It's been a long time coming to switch HL maps to Wato by default. For example, on HPortal, Wato is the default in tournaments.

By the way, the tournament format is SoD's, but how can you play the 8xm12a, 6lm10a, and even 8mm6a templates when there's a high probability of forming a bunch of one-way passages (for the first two templates) and the possibility of getting a one-way passage in the center of the map for the last one????
.
P.S. One-way passages are part of the strategy;)
And also, maybe it was just a coincidence? I rarely encountered 8mm6a with one-way passages, but when they appeared on the map, they were symmetrical for both opponents, meaning both had an exit to the center through one-way passages... Just like in 8xm12a, each opponent has one of the exits leading through a one-way passage... These are my observations, but I haven't played these templates much, so maybe it's just a coincidence???
It's only been 9 days, and I've already played one game!) We started with the goal of one game per year, and we're ahead of schedule.
P.S. I wrote in the official forum and on ICQ, but there was no response... you'll definitely notice it here!)))
Stop with your Warto. Go to Hportal and torture it; Soda is tastier.

Lost many control points to the AI and in intermediate zones; on the fourth turn, there were 15 Angels and 160 Demons, while the opponent's situation wasn't great + a one-way road :smile48: On turn 211, the blue side surrendered.
Thank you for the game!

Opponent took 2 rests on 111, I took one on 112. Started, on the respawn there are 3 external dwellings of rogues. On the first one, 2 of them are taken, a portal is built in the secondary dungeon. On the second week, another external dwelling of rogues is taken and another portal is built in the second secondary dungeon. +17 rogues per week. Cool!
By the second week, 4 Dragon Fly Hives are taken. I have earth and water expertise.
Managed to exit into the treasure zone only on 131. There I took 3 Dragon Fly Hives immediately, then the opponent's scout ran in. I realize I need to act fast.
I take the Dragon Utopia, rush towards him, he retreats from the treasure zone with all heroes, realizing no resistance is forthcoming. I start running around the treasure zone, leveling up, found a Pandora's Box with 5 angels and a Griffin Conservatory with 2, a Pandora's Box with all spells (appeared twice like this).
After that began a tedious game, where I tried to catch the opponent's main, and he ran away as much as he could, giving up towns and heroes. While chasing I found good artifacts: +5 All and +4 All.
In the end I catch up to him, armies are almost equal, I have an advantage in unicorns, his attack and defense are slightly lower. But with my spell power of 30, Implosion would destroy anything.
Thanks for the game!
I confirm, I also exited into the treasure zone on 131, but the outcome was worse than for my opponent.
And Platini is being stubborn and doesn't want to use video replays:rolleyes:
Could you please clarify something for me? If I block the exit with my scout in a one-way tile, will I end up at the free exit (I've confirmed this)? But if the opponent's scout blocks the exit, will my hero, when jumping into the one-way tile, also appear only at the free exit, or is there a chance that he will engage in battle with the opponent's scout? And are there any restrictions in the rules regarding this?
P.S. One-way tiles are part of the strategy. :)

you can check this yourself, but there will be no battle

That's true, but very self-serving interests are at stake when introducing the rule. He's not being dense; he knows exactly what's going on :)
I'm not a fan of any particular version; I can play both Vata and SoD with equal ease. But from experience—and quite a lot of it—I think I can objectively judge the playability of certain templates on VT and in SoD. And I've said this more than once. In fact, the conversation in this very thread turned to one-way paths. And they, along with the Mage Guild, are the main problem on XL. You don't have to look far; just yesterday I played against a Pole: I had the advantage, but couldn't capitalize on it because I hit a closed door, and if Fire or Medium were in his place, for example, I have no doubt they would have handled it better.
And again, from the position of significant gaming experience, I can say that HLs most objectively reflect a player's skill. I'm sure that in 10 games against someone like Medium, you'll earn one frag at most, and even then only due to a throw or the layout. Anyway, the point of this wall of text is: if players are mentally ready to play HL, then comfortable conditions should be created for them—meaning, for these guys, set a version that is more convenient for them by default. And it's stupid to deny that VT is much better tailored for HL than SoD is. And if you don't want to play HLs—just cross them out, and that's it, simple as that...

Bad connections to central areas, Tazar no path and got log as last skill, so i was very slow in developing. But on wk4 end i found wings in utopia and from then all was OK. Found several more utopias, had much better stats and army, so i won at the end. Thx for game!
There was 1 rest for both of us; my Vistan arrived in the second generation with three stacks, Brogh in the town, and a lizard external dwelling—it was on. 40 lizards at the first [town] broke through a lot, but the trouble was—there was no money anywhere, damn it. I barely managed to plug ducks into the citadel without cows! At the second, the lack of army was very apparent; constant small losses thinned out already few detachments. I barely managed to take one unit of consuls, but spotted another 4 or 5 consuls. At the start of the third, I quickly gathered 10 angels, two Dragon Utopias dropped, but without control, although at least I had built Town Portal by then. The opponent showed higher stats and army, but didn't make contact even though he knew where I was. Vistan and Brogh leveled up perfectly—both had log, off, earth, air. I split the army and castles began to fall one after another. I tracked down and killed the native AI; near him was a Dimension Door scroll, then I took three strongholds with bears in each, picking off the main opp, income nearly 19k. The opponent sees this outrage and surrenders.
Thanks for the game.

Yeah. In the first few days, I grabbed the armor of all and a shield+4. During the first week, it took me a very long time to reach the computer, but there was a block of cyclops right by the Castle, so I had to turn back. On the 2nd, I take a couple of spotted cons; the Dragon Utopia fell first on 132 with a bag of gold and a gladius. Then for some reason I ran into another dead-end treasure zone where a Dragon Utopia was visible. In the end, they didn't give me anything useful. I let my opponent recover without any problems.
Thanks for the game.
