Well, "restoration" obviously won't work, but a one-time draining is definitely usable. The point is that the auras only remove spells when moving, so if they have already moved, you can try to restore some of the troops in this way.
Regarding a massive attack – I don't really agree with that. By closing ranks and defending skillfully, Haven will crush all these demon units. Haven is generally designed specifically for defense, so I doubt it can be taken by a cavalry rush.
As I see it, the Demon faction should actively use Berserk, enthrall Lilims, and other abilities that remove units from the battle for 1-3 turns, up to petrification. It makes sense to bring only Abyss Lords to the front, but they are unlikely to withstand a large number of attacks.
It's better to shoot, have the Lords attack with their active ability, and summon as many troops as possible (it's important to max out luck).

I tried using the suggested tactic in a duel against a medium-difficulty AI opponent. Haven, in my opinion, is very strong, especially with the Seraphs. Plus, they couldn't attack nearby enemies in melee for two turns because, when approaching the petrified demon, they would switch their target to it and couldn't harm anyone else. In other words, for one turn, part of my troops didn't attack at all, and in the second turn, their attacks were limited to only a few units, rather than any units of my choice. In the second duel, I defeated him because I destroyed these demons in the first two turns, before he could cast Petrification.
