What does “small” mean? If we’re talking about land, there’s a bit of time to develop at the bottom, so this map is considered medium-sized. There are maps that are small in size, but divided by strong units – again, the Warlock has time to develop.

"Lands of the Outcasts" is actually a small map, not a medium one. And a Warlock won't have time to develop: he'll be killed by the 2nd week, at the beginning of the 3rd week – at the latest.

And who will kill him? Will some orc come along and take him down with just a few units? Well, orcs are one thing, but there are also underdogs in the game – dwarves, Haven, elves. If you can still reach the Warlock at the top, then you can comfortably position yourself at the bottom and slowly clear the surrounding areas. The Warlock develops quite well there, and if there are no mana problems, it will no longer be easy to kill him.

The problem is that the Warlock will have mana issues on this map, and quite significant ones at that...

Vittorio as the most extreme example:
1. Let's start with the stats: attack, defense, knowledge – it seems like everything needed for a ballista rush is being developed!
2. You don't need to buy a ballista at the start! + if Dugald is a secondary hero, then it's no joke (mages and Dungeon units are weak at the beginning; one shot from archers is enough to seriously injure them! They can give an artifact for magic resistance!).
3. It won't be possible to train, but even so, we will have a fully upgraded ballista and something else (I would take luck).
A warlock won't cast spells with just a few stones, or deal damage with spikes and boots! But we're not fools; we won't put everything together, are we!

Here, look. Let's take Sinithar. He starts with 10 mana and a spell. Quickly get Education, Attraction, and Chaos. There are several mana wells, a Crystal of Revelation, and a magic spring on the map. In total, you can gather 60-70 mana early on and confidently attack a Haven castle with just Lazutchegs. I wouldn't say they're weak. Vittorio's ballista won't save him here. Quickly eliminate the archers, griffins, and swordsmen. And finish off the peasants with the Lazutchegs. No, Vittorio is definitely not an option here.

I don't quite understand where the convenient spot is. It seems like there's one well per territory, located near the cities. And then, a Warlock won't be able to level up enough in two weeks to defeat an Academy or a non-magical faction. It won't be possible to level up quickly to level 11-14 (so that he has at least something that will help us win): education might not even be offered (8%). And he still has to reach the magic spring: there, he will already be waiting for us (for example, a red and a blue option)... And on the 15th-17th day, it will all be over for him.

What 11-14? Level 7 is enough. You just need to quickly build the Chamber of Intrigue. That is, quickly clear a couple of mines, take the Knowledge Dolmen, the Crystal, find something, and quickly run to the stream. While running, build the Chamber of Intrigue. There, quickly perform one ritual, and you can already attack the Castle.
