Posts from How to play Heroes of Might and Magic III online via Hamachi?
If by Kaspersky you mean KAV, then it doesn't interfere with Hamachi; I've been playing with it for several years, and I haven't made any additional settings. If it's KIS, then it seems to include a firewall, which probably needs to be configured.
Yes, I meant Kaspersky Anti-Virus; could it be that the domain itself is blocking Hamachi?
If “Kaspersky” refers to KAV, then it doesn’t interfere with the game; I’ve been playing with it for several years, and I haven’t made any additional settings. If it’s KIS, then it seems to include a firewall, which probably needs to be configured.
I have KIS installed, and it doesn’t cause me any problems.
Situation:
VPN network
All computers are pingable. Response time is approximately 70ms.
The versions of the game are identical and have been copied.
The game version is HOMM3TE (Tournament Edition).
IP addresses differ only in the last digit.
The players are using a VPN connection (verified).
1v1 games work perfectly. Everything runs without bugs.
Problem:
When a third player connects, they receive the error "IP address was not found," regardless of who the player is.
I have considerable experience with workarounds that allow playing old games over a network. However, I have no idea what the problem is here.
By the way, the same thing happens in Hamachi.
I look forward to your answers.
Hamachi clients need to be cleared, and settings should be checked!! Often, due to a large number of networks and connections, whether they exist or not, Hamachi becomes overloaded, and it needs to be cleared by deleting clients in the settings... It helped me!"!!!
Try playing in the WBT. It's a new update for the TE version.
I'll give it a try. It's also interesting who played with three, four, or five players... and how they managed to do it. It's a burning question, but there's no answer. The router option doesn't interest me much. And I don't think there's much difference for Heroes between VPN and a local network through a router.
Both WT and TE are equally demanding on the connection; try SOD for starters.
With 3 or more players, SOD plays normally, although there are some who claim they played it on WT as well. But there's a higher chance of errors.
Otherwise, there's no difference – whether it's two players or five.
By the way, you can play through GameRanger; there are always 2v2 matches there.

Situation at work :) In the game, half of the users are orange, so I'm trying to play through a group. The first connection works, meaning everything is fine until the restart. The second one doesn't... Moreover, before recreating the room, the game freezes on the loading screen. After recreating the room, a "direct play helper" error appears, and this time the opponent can't connect. And it's like that every time. What the heck is going on?) I checked the antivirus, but it didn't help.

We set up a network using Hamachi, version 2.0.3.89. Next to the computer name, there's a blue dot, and it says the network is connected through a relay server for both of us. However, we can't see each other in the game, SoD. What could be the problem? P.S. We can chat with each other in the Hamachi chat.
After recreating the room, a Direct Play Helper error appears.
In such cases, I first close and reopen the game (and the opponent does the same), and then recreate the room; this usually helps... Also, during restarts, when I am the host, I don't use the game's options; instead, I click "Abort" in the game lobby, while the opponent can click "Main Menu" in the game...

Similar issue. Computer 1: Windows 7 64-bit (everything works locally), firewall and antivirus are disabled. Hamachi is installed on both computers, and I use it for remote access – it works fine. I create a server. Computer 2: Windows XP, internet connection via a 3G modem – I try to connect from this computer, and it says “timeout”.
I try to create a server on the second computer instead – I connect from the first computer, and it says “IP address not found”. However, the ping works fine through Hamachi. Could the router be blocking something? But how can I check?
Hamachi network. I'm available for Heroes 3 games on weekdays in the evenings via Skype: lakibz. You can write there, or use the Hamachi network for Heroes 3: Fan-Lbz-3geroi, password 123.
Please advise.
We want to play together with a friend. We installed Hamachi, and the ping is stable (around 100-120ms). Firewalls are disabled. We have the same version of the game.
When trying to join a game created by the other player, an error message "Timeout" appears after some time. We have a slow internet connection; could this be the problem?
