Offline Tournament "Evil Lands".

TOURNAMENT RULES

1. To participate in the first offline tournament, "Best of the best," you must register on our website www.heroesworld.ru and submit an application in this thread.

2. The tournament will be held on the Russian version of Heroes 1 (Platinum from Buky).

3. Each player can only submit one final save! (Repeatedly submitted saves will not be considered!)

4. The submitted save must contain the tournament number (1), the participant's tournament number, and the abbreviation (ZZ - Evil Lands), as well as the player's nickname.

Example:

1_1_ZZ_Admin.GM1

1_2_ZZ_VDV_forever.GM1

5. Along with the submitted save, it is mandatory to provide a description of the last step (battle with a hero, battle for a castle, capturing an artifact, defeating the last monster) after which the victory or scenario completion occurs.

6. Cheating programs, codes, and any additional programs that allow you to change the game structure are PROHIBITED!

7. The result will be evaluated primarily based on the shortest time. If several players have equal times, the best will be determined by the sum of primary skills (attack, defense, magic, knowledge) INCLUDING WORN ARTIFACTS; if a favorite still cannot be determined, then by the amount of mercury.

8. You can only dig up the Grail when the puzzle map is fully revealed.

9. Send saves to the email address VDV_forever@BK.RU

10. Applications are accepted until November 14, 2006.

11. In case of suspicion of cheating or other malicious intent during gameplay, it is necessary to save every day.
In this case (detection of cheating), the player must send additional saves and provide a description of the playthrough to determine whether the play was fair or not, to the tournament organizer. The results of a player who played unfairly will be disqualified, and their further participation in tournaments will be impossible. This will also affect their reputation negatively.

12. Discussion of the tournament during its course is welcome!!!
(Players who follow this rule will automatically earn my recognition:). Just please do not reveal your final result until the end of the tournament.

13. The tournament starts on October 25th and lasts until November 15th (inclusive!). The results will be announced on November 17th.

14. After receiving your save, we will notify you via email at our website http://www.heroesworld.ru/

P.S. I wish all participants good luck with the game and most importantly VICTORY!

P.S.S. If there are any additions or comments, please don't hesitate to express them so that we can minimize disagreements and shortcomings in the process of conducting the tournament

A replay is unlikely, because in the first Heroes game, combat is a matter of chance, so you can lose with 20 Druids, even though you won with just 2 before.
It's not certain that you even need to take Fortresses (maybe they'll surrender on their own) :)
I think it's approximately possible, starting from one of the leader's saves. And of course, someone replaying, knowing that the battle was won before, will also save-scum and, one way or another, achieve victory in the necessary battles, having a description of the main points of the playthrough.

Ah, in my final playthrough, no one came to me :(, but if they had, I could have finished a week earlier!
I'd replay it, but I already sent the save file.
A good idea comes to mind later.
Exactly :) Someone came to me on the 7th day, I think. I found that save and am now working on a second playthrough, and I've put the first one aside. With the boat, I can attack Red, Blue, and Yellow strategically. I've come to the conclusion that attacking Yellow early on is strategically disadvantageous. This Fortress ends up between two fires and is then attacked from two sides by Red and Blue. You can hold out, but development is slowed down due to the constant defense of this Fortress.

Well, if you put it that way, I didn't have to chase after the Heroes either...
Prorock.
Yes, you yourself wrote earlier that it's enough to leave the Fortress, and enemy heroes will flock like flies to honey :) I hope to keep my heroes safe, if I'm lucky.

In total, I captured 4 castles, 3 enemy villages, and 1 neutral village.
The most interesting thing is that some villages initially seemed to be controlled by the AI; otherwise, how could I explain the presence of a serious monster at the entrance to the village?
Unfortunately, I don't know any codes, so I couldn't view the map from the start.

I also thought so at first, but in reality, everyone starts with 1 castle!
And he bypassed the griffons from the East - if you're interested! ;)

And looking at the number of captured castles, I understand that everyone ends up in a similar situation! :

Sincerely,
Prorock.

I thought the same thing at first, but actually, everyone starts with only 1 Castle!
And he circled around the Griffons from the East - if that interests you! ;)

And looking at the number of captured Castles, I understand that everyone ends up in a similar situation! :

Sincerely,
Prorock.
How do you explain the fact that the lower Sorceress village is also red, if on the way from the red Castle to this village, there is another village that remained neutral until the end, even though the demon with the genies ran right past it? :)
And you are right about the Griffons ;)

Exactly! It arrived on the 7th day, I think. I found this save and am now trying a second playthrough, while I put the first one aside. With the boat, I can quickly attack the red, blue, and yellow factions; I'm testing different strategies. I've come to the conclusion that attacking the yellow faction early on is strategically disadvantageous. This fortress ends up caught between two fires and is then attacked from two sides by the red and blue factions. You can hold out, but development is slowed down due to the constant defense of this fortress.

You're overthinking it...

I think it's roughly possible, perhaps by loading a save from one of the leader's games. And, of course, someone who knows the game and knows that the battle was won before will also use save-loading and, one way or another, achieve victory in the necessary battles, having a description of the main points of the walkthrough.

Well, damn it, I thought I could at least relax in the Heroes of Might and Magic tournament, play without pressure, assuming that there wouldn't be any particularly strong players here... Aha, as if! And here, too, mega-monsters don't give me peace! :) :)

And what exactly does the task say? We need to eliminate all the colored factions, and we don't have to capture neutral objects, right?

So, what does the task say? We need to eliminate all the "colored" ones, and we don't necessarily need to capture neutral objects, right?
Well, it's basically a speedrun.
And the win condition is original – eliminate all the AI opponents.
Therefore, using the method of induction, we can conclude that eliminating neutrals is not a "sufficient" or "necessary" condition, but...
In short, you messed around and lost. Eliminating neutrals is not required. :)

You're overthinking it too much...

It seems there is still time - maybe I'll make it.

Damn, I thought I could finally relax in a tournament for the first Heroes, playing without any stress assuming there wouldn't be many strong players here... Yeah, right, even here the mega monsters won't leave me in peace! :) :)

I think I can only play same-old own games in IV sometimes if time permits, but I ended up here by accident - some very "smart" magisters put me on a portal of penalty :)

How else can you explain the fact that the lower Sorcerer's town is also red, if there's another town on the way from the red castle to this town that remained neutral until the very end, even though a demon with genies ran past it? :)
And you're right about the griffins ;)
I don't know how to explain it, but I assure you that initially, everything is equal! I checked the code.
If you want, you can check it yourself:
Here's the code for those who don't know: 101495.
IronAxe;44425
Looks like there's still time - maybe I'll make it.
There's enough time to play this map again, trying all 25 variations! :)

I don't know...:)...it depends on who you ask!
Personally, I'm relaxing here compared to other tournaments, which is why I didn't rewrite my ONLY DRAFT in white...:):):)

Sincerely,
Prorock.

Ah, I wish we could ban these codes altogether. Because if you use them skillfully and analyze every move, then... (it's better not to even think about it. If they were playing a game with a thousand greens here.... :) :) :) )

Regarding relaxation - yes, you can say that: I played for my own enjoyment.

P.S. So, is this kind of discussion okay? Or is it also not suitable? ;)

I believe that people participate in this tournament out of nostalgia and for their own enjoyment; if someone is interested in playing with codes, that's their business. But I hope there aren't many of them here 8)).

When I was playing, I didn't think about that:) So you're not the only one, old man;)!

And what exactly does the assignment say? Do we have to kill all the colored ones, and we don't have to capture neutral objects, right?

Exactly!

It seems my result will be the worst, and by a significant margin. But I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I was able to test all the features of the first game in practice. Thank you to the organizers for the tournament! It was very enjoyable to play. I congratulate the winner in advance!

In our language, this is called SCOUTING, not cheat codes, Buddy.:)

And the mere fact that I played only once proves that the game was played for pleasure... and was not used REPEATEDLY;):):):):):):):):):):):):

Ah, I wish we could ban these cheats altogether. Because if you use them skillfully and analyze each move, then... (it's better not to even think about it. If they were playing a game with a thousand greens here.... :) :)

In offline tournaments, it's impossible to ban cheats in the sense that any player can conduct a preliminary reconnaissance of the starting save using any available method (for example, finding the map and viewing it in the editor), if only to save their own real time so that they don't have to replay it several times. Thank you, Prorock, for sharing the code. It's invaluable for preliminary reconnaissance. It might be useful next time.
