Guys, you're talking nonsense. I've played this game 15 times without dragons. They are good damage dealers, of course, but you can easily manage without them.
:)
Necromancers also have flight.
Clerics are also useless. I've never completed the game with a cleric.

I've played this game many times since its release, with different parties. It really comes down to personal preference. You can do all sorts of things. The only difference is the time it takes, I guess. =)
But what really caught my attention is that, in all my playthroughs, I've never seen these artifacts:
Volcano
Guardian
Serpent's Sting
Longbow
Devastator
Soul Killer
Scepter of Dominion
Staff of Elements
Tournament Bow
Berserker's Belt
But I'm leveling up luck, so maybe the list will get shorter soon. =)
Recently, I decided to indulge in some nostalgia and play M&M VI-VIII. And in the eighth part, I don't have the pirate outpost on the "Islands of Dagger Wound" location (it's just an empty island). Is this a bug in the game, or will it appear after certain actions (I didn't have this problem last time)?
On the "Islands of Dagger Wound" location, at the pirate outpost (empty island).
What stage of the story are you at when you checked? The outpost appears only after the quest that requires you to sail to Regnum and sink the fleet. Before that point in the story, the island will be empty.
Could it be due to the computer in some way? I have Vista SP2, and an NVidia Geforce 9500M GS graphics card.
The same thing happens in the VII part. And this only happens in full-screen mode. When you play in windowed mode, everything is normal, without flickering.
And VI works very well, without any problems.
Now all that's left is to do some test runs on MM6, MM8, and MM9. :) And then I'll start exploring "The Tenth". :)
"The main character is an 80th-level Dark Elf Patriarch (Squad composition at the end of the game: 80th-level Dark Elf Patriarch, 81st-level Lich, 78th-level Priest of Light, 86th-level Great Serpent, 87th-level Great Serpent); Total time: 4 years, 6 months, and 12 days; Score: 2,106 points; Amount of gold at the end of the game: 1,049,251".

Now all that's left are MM6 and MM9. :)
I once read that when a Necromancer transforms into a Lich, you can keep his old portrait, meaning the Necromancer will remain a Necromancer in terms of appearance. Or is this just an "in-game myth"?
Congrats on completing the game!
This question may have been asked hundreds of times, but I'll ask anyway.
On the Isle of Dagger Wound, behind the abandoned Temple, there are two strange trees. They are displayed on the map as something resembling a portal.
Could you please tell me what these trees are? Or point me to a forum thread where this is discussed (unfortunately, I couldn't find anything on Google, either in Russian or English).
