I attended a concert by the Minin Choir. It was simply amazing – a male a cappella quartet, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, and much more. I sat in the first row, center, and despite being in the Tchaikovsky Hall (the acoustics weren't quite perfect), it was very impressive.
Then I was in the city on the Neva River. I visited "Atmosfera" (it seems to be on Lesnoy). I heard several representatives of the local show business scene with a chanson flavor... Plus, the sound engineer's work that day was, to put it mildly, not entirely flawless. The audience was already quite bored; everyone had found their acquaintances, eaten (the cuisine was comparable to the sound engineer's work; with a full table, I could only eat a lavash), and drunk, and there were noticeable yawns. And then, a pop group called "Evro," which I hadn't heard of before, simply blew the hall away with the track "Radio DJ," and I thought: after all, this city has its own merits. For example, Dubrovin Pavel, DR28, and SDV live here...

Visited Macho Grill on Tverskaya Street. The show program was simply amazing: 3 girls and 3 guys from Brazil. Capoeira and lots of other things. The joy on their faces was genuine, not a forced smile. And a local artist performed many hits, including "Comandante Che Guevara"... Ola!

I visited the FBI Hall in the city. It was like falling down a rabbit hole, with decorations inspired by Alice in Wonderland and excerpts from the film playing on a large screen. I was left with a very good impression!

Yesterday, I was at the Forum Hall on Letnikovskaya Street. Firstly, they've learned how to cook. It's quite decent. Secondly, they've really livened up the atmosphere with bunnies (I think it's only for the next month). At first, an orchestra was playing, and not just a medley of popular songs, but almost Albinoni! I was seriously hoping that it would continue like that all evening, but the symphony orchestra was just an opening act for representatives of domestic pop music. I won't say anything bad, but I liked Sutkin's jacket.

Yesterday, I was at the Jimi club on Leningradsky Prospekt.
There was plenty of food, but it was completely bland, but the venue had other merits.
The acoustics were quite acceptable for a non-specialized space, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant.
Veterans of Soviet punk performed, playing a couple of songs with them, and Troitsky sang. Fortunately, before and after them, a completely unknown band to me called "Bombay" performed. I had never heard of them before, and that was a mistake! They started with "Black Magic Woman," then played "Have You Ever Seen the Rain," and I sent a mental greeting to Ergon. The guys played incredibly well, but then it turned out that they also had a vocalist (although the guitarist and drummer sang quite well). The Bilian from the day before simply couldn't compare to this vocalist. After the punk veterans, they played "Go, Gianni, Go" and hits by The Beatles and Creedence, and they finished with "Have You Ever Seen the Rain!"

This was the best event I've been to in the last year.

Yes, I watched the latest installment of "The Shadow of Death." Yes, in 3D. Yes, in IMAX. Hollywood can close its doors – they won't be able to make anything better.

Yesterday, I attended a "Picnic" concert at the Crocus City Hall. First, about the venue. My favorite non-classical music venue used to be the State Kremlin Palace. By the way, I also saw "Picnic" there back in the day... But that time has passed, and with it, the State Kremlin Palace. Of the existing venues, I like the Kremlin Palace of Congresses and, of course, the Crocus City Hall the most. "Picnic" is celebrating its 30th anniversary. There's no need to state the obvious about how quickly time flies... I remembered a lot of things, including the time before Qwerty... Of course, I also remembered the historic meeting of the "Order of the Phoenix," when Zingel and AmberSoler talked about "Picnic." The hall was full. Considering the reasonable ticket price and the large size of the venue... There's an expression: "based on the totality of achievements." However, "Picnic's" place in history is irrelevant. Its music has already taken its place in my life. And the concert was a success, especially the last third. A magnificent jam of "Telephone" and "How Easy It Is for Me," an excellent performance of "Holiday," a very appropriate quote from "Aqualang," all with a superbly crafted sound and a super atmosphere. P.S. They performed "Italianets" as an encore.

I attended "Monte Cristo" at the Operetta Theater.
First of all, I want to say that 15-20 years ago, the singing at the Operetta Theater was significantly worse: they constantly missed the notes. Now, everything has changed for the better, and drastically.
The performance itself is also not done in a traditional way, but with the use of projections and other effects.
As for the musical material, it is, to put it mildly, not original, although it is quite good.

I saw the first "Star Wars" in 3D. It turned out that I had to go to a small theater. I strongly recommend that everyone check the theater's specifications before going to see a 3D movie. Theaters with "141 seats" are definitely not suitable. By the way, in many cinemas, theater number 1 is the largest (this is because it is the "descendant" of a theater from the Soviet era).

...and I've watched this movie many times...

So, how are they in 3D? :) I'm just thinking about whether to give it a try, I really like the series...

To be honest, the 3D effect wasn't very impressive in this particular movie. The problem is that it's currently very difficult to find a good theater that has the first "Star Wars" film in 3D in its current repertoire. Moreover, finding a theater with decent 3D technology that's showing this film is unlikely. Considering the numerous panoramic shots and the current level of video technology, I would recommend skipping this episode and waiting for the next one! And in about 10 years, buy all 6 films on Blu-ray in 3D and reminisce...

So, I should have gone to see it in iMax when it was released, instead of waiting for half a year. Well, I'll take your advice and wait for the next installment. Thanks :)

And yet, I would still recommend "The Dark Half," but with the following caveats: 1. Watch it strictly without children. 2. It's still only for fans of the genre. With the same caveats, the third "The Butterfly Effect."
