1. Go to the object, in the message click cancel, and right-click on the object - it will show the approximate number. You can immediately see the number of castles/dwarf dwellings/medusa dwellings, but you'll have to exit the unit list to do so.
2. You need to go to the settings menu during a battle (the button with the computer icon) and enable the "unit information" option (either all or just spells). Along with the information, the damage will also be displayed.

When installing The Shadow of Death, the program reports that 32MB of memory is required, but I have 2GB, the status is assigned as failed, and a warning is issued that the game may run slowly, be unstable, freeze, or not launch at all. After installation, the game launches, but it crashes periodically. I'm sure it's crashing because of this problem. What is the way to solve it? After all, you wouldn't remove memory and forcibly insert 32MB.

I once had a similar warning when installing SoD on a laptop (also with 2 Gb of memory), but everything worked perfectly. Apparently, the developers simply didn't foresee the appearance of computers with such an amount of memory :)
So the problem might be something else, quite possibly the OS version.

As an alternative, please tell me how to make the random map generator work in 3.2? In my 3.2, only the selection of available scenarios is displayed and there are no random maps.

herurg, you can do as Kasabian suggests, and even better, install the ABinSoD.rar patch, which is offered in the article "How to Install Heroes" that I mentioned on the previous page. It also allows you to run the "Armageddon's Blade" campaigns in Russian.

Thanks to everyone for responding. I have XP. I read some things on the forum in this thread and others, and set the compatibility mode on the shortcut. Yesterday, the game didn't crash even once in six hours. This is the first time in a very long time that this has happened, so maybe it helped. Fingers crossed.

I have a question about HoMM 3.
I'm playing on a laptop with an integrated video card (Intel GMA X3100), which doesn't have the option to enable vertical synchronization (vsync). Is there a way to enable vertical synchronization within the game itself (by adding it to a config file or something else)? It's really annoying when the image "flickers/tears" when the hero moves around the map, and it makes my eyes tired. If I play on a video card that supports vsync, there is no flickering.

In HoMM 5, for example, you can add the vsync option to the user's config file, and the image in the game stops flickering/tearing when the hero moves and the camera rotates.
