Act VIII – Darkness
Scene one.A dark city alleyway. A passerby with a very pale face walks slowly through it. The passerby hears a quiet rustling sound, turns around and sees a large bat flying rapidly towards him. The passerby dodged at the last moment, then accurately threw a small stone after the bat. The bat shrieked and disappeared into the night. The passerby remained in place for some time, and then, smelling the smoke of some plant, quickly left the street.
Scene two.A spacious tavern hall. Today there are only three visitors here - a Peasant Woman, a Forester, and a Lumberjack; they are discussing something and laughing heartily together. Then the lumberjack
crabby hurriedly gathers his things and runs towards the river. The lumberjack goes down to the pier; he notices a piece of paper floating on the river; the text is slightly blurred, but it can still be read:
I have every reason to believe that Nebo is a vampire. First, I was cursed (ND doesn't always work), and on the night when I saved him from certain death, I wasn't healing him: it was probably him who directed my ND at himself. Second, he has already been suspected. We need to review all the evidence against him again.
