Posts from The 3rd stage of the annual John Van Caneghem Tournament (2010).
They really impressed me, honestly. 7 days never even crossed my mind. I thought the result would be around two weeks. Truly surgical precision... After this, Heroes started to seem very close to exact sciences: mathematics, for example.
Offline is a cool thing; it's a pity that people don't play it at all :(. But it allows you to look at your favorite HOMM from a completely different perspective :). Of course, there are things like the hero-digger, for example, and using this program creates a staggering gap in capabilities compared to beginners. Of course, knowing that any unoccupied hero can be dug up in the tavern is already basic knowledge, while applying what to do and when is skill; the hero-digger is just a mechanical simplification of the inevitable, a gadget that saves real time.
In terms of technical knowledge, offline is much richer than online. And every tournament is original in its own way.
This is my second off tournament; for some reason, I thought I'd have a much better result, turns out I was wrong... ))) Such a noob... really... My mindset needs to change, and I need to thoughtfully read winners' Walkthroughs and test them—which is a pain, of course, but it's worth it if you want a more or less decent result.
And the Super_Most_Great_Master_Sensei_Messiah_Allah-Krishna_Medstrax all in one person in Heroes-III has completely disappeared from the forum since 20.03.2010. Such a pity. Probably became ashamed of the nonsense he wrote earlier.
(I wonder, honestly, why none of the offline players took his ridiculous bet of 200 bucks on his campaign by Maxuta, which he pushed into every single available crack. (To be honest, I wonder about myself why I didn't take it; 200 bucks wouldn't exactly be spare change for me, the only condition was to complete it, and how long it took didn't matter. I guess I chickened out, thought I lacked offline experience))
Anyway, a newbie in short, what can I say, he's lucky he didn't run into the big shots. In some way, his behavior reminded me of dragon20000 :D.
Salute to everyone. Dirty, thanks for organizing and my congratulations! :) Antoshka described it virtuously, pity he just didn't execute it.
Study, study, and study again (c) Volodka :)
And as for the quorum, we need to think about how to attract people. Off is kind of dying out completely. This isn't right... Very few people...
За то что нейтралы не бегают за единичкой, для меня это уже стоит того
Antoshka,
when are you planning to take the first Chillwater dungeon?
Then, to capture the Black Tent, you need two mega-boosted heroes - one to take the lower right dungeon, and the other to take the lower left dungeon.
another 7 boosts cost another 17500 - this is for taking the second dungeon.
even if it's not 7 boosts, but 8 each, in total it's 40k.
after the drowns, we'll have 70k. I think if we don't waste money, we can manage :).
in principle, you can run from the first dungeon directly to the dungeon with the Black Tent. - BUT I calculated that it might be more expensive. Although, maybe not, something around 20 boosts :). Again, these are all details that need to be combined into a single picture.
So, I don't think your Stone Flower will work at level 115!

Okay, so you won't get a thousand, and that's a good thing.
Where are our main heroes? SergeyY and medstrax?

I absolutely didn't like this map – it’s all snow, no aesthetic pleasure. And there wasn't much time either. So I decided not to play on this map, but instead finish the map from the previous offline tournament. Minotaur King. I improved my result for 1st place there (I used to be in 2nd place) and showed an incredible result – I completed the map in 20 days. So although officially I was in 2nd place, now I played better than everyone else. No one will complete that map faster.
If any of the players from the previous tournament are interested, you can find it – I wrote a report there and can provide saves. (Tolikandro, my strategy
actually worked!!!! /topic/at/359455/ ) I AM SURE that it is impossible to improve my 20 days.
Any questions are welcome. Only 3 difficult battles: Max vs. Utopian, Luna vs. Astral, and Adel vs. Alamar.
Regarding completing the game in fewer days. I agree with 6 days; I think if you take a certain castle a day earlier, it will work out. But 5... That's too many remote locations, such as the white or blue paladin, for example. Another question about the Utopians. How do you take both at once? How do you move troops from one to the other in one day? And the Utopian isn't that easy either. What troops do we have? 10 knights and that's it? In short, I'm questioning 5 days, but I agree with 6.
*thinking... should I subscribe to this or not?!
And someone else wanted to buy more boots and gloves, golems from the dwellings, and feed the company!
I just pointed out that there is such an opportunity, and whether to use it or not is a voluntary decision :).
Too many remote locations, such as the white or blue palatka, for example.
The white one is a little more difficult. but we shouldn't forget that we already have a boosting point. and we can slightly boost any hero :). 1-2 boosts, and it is achievable ;).
How to get both at once? How to transfer troops from one to the other during one day?

Dirty_Player, how do I defeat that idiot with the Moon hypnosis?? My brain is about to explode....
I've been sitting here for an hour and a half - with little success. These stupid gargoyles just won't go into the fire...)
Dirty, thanks for the saves. I could have improved my result, of course, but the map is just too interesting. Once I start, I can't stop. After the second attempt, I got a headache and decided to stop and be satisfied with what I achieved. It's so captivating!
Dirty_Player, how do I beat this idiot with the Moon Hypnosis spell?? My brain is about to explode....
I've been trying for an hour and a half - with little success. These stupid gargoyles just won't go into the fire...
Adelka's battle seems more interesting to me.
The first move is like this, and then it can go any way. ;)
