Which Haven heroes do you prefer? Auto-translated

not only against the computer, this hero, strangely enough, performs very well in battles against Orcs on large maps, and on smaller maps, Dugald will be a good choice. As for personal preferences, Axel is a great hero, with a boosted attack, and if there's a Dark magic school with vampirism, he becomes a real killing machine, running from one end of the battlefield to the other, trampling everything in his path:smile20:

Dugal, Dugal, and Dugal again. Previous players have already explained everything!

On large maps, Dugald isn't the best, in my opinion. Training 20 peasants into archers every week isn't serious when Axel with his cavalry looks much better.

I also tried the griffin trainer. It's not bad with their endless retaliation, but it's a pity that training doesn't enhance her ability in any way (unlike Dugald).

Heh! No! Dugald is better! Even on large maps, the humans will still run out of money (it all depends on the map itself, the number of swamps), the most important thing is the start! I already said that the start is 60% of success. Two heroes start well for the humans - Dugald and Vittorio. I choose the first one, because the archers are just awesome with him!

Dugal is the strongest hero from the human castle; the archers are doing their job! Humans and knights have armor, so the archers won't scatter quickly from ranged attacks, and in melee combat, you can't even get close; the knights and hundreds of horses are right there!!!!

Where did hundreds of horses come from? If it's training, why not Axel???
And if it's Dugald, then why train archers, where would hundreds of horses come from???

I completely agree with Avenger! If you have Dugald, why convert monks into knights? You should turn the non-combatant peasants into the most powerful level 2 units in the game – crossbowmen:smile20:! With Dugald, focus on Light – take Divine Might, Remove Curse, and Haste:smile42:! Definitely take Prayer:smile20:! You can also take Darkness – if you're against Orcs or Haven, and you win!:smile54:

I've been looking at the voting, and Axel and Dugald are winning. I think that's fair. I'd like to point out that players have a great opportunity to take a hero who specializes in a particular troop type (Dugald, Laslo, Axel), and then train the corresponding units – and we get a hero whose ability is significantly enhanced. For example, if Laslo is chosen and he has a large number of trained knights, he is much better than the corresponding dark elf hero (specializing in minotaurs), because the number of enhanced minotaurs is significantly lower. I believe that this opportunity should not be missed, so I advise you to choose the aforementioned heroes.

I don't know why Laslo received so few votes... maybe... people don't like the Haven faction... at level 16, their defense might exceed that of 5th-level creatures like Adepts or even Inquisitors... and it's difficult to defeat them at the start – I've checked (if you're playing as a Warlock).

The initiative of the armored units is a bit lacking, but I think that if you learn the logistics – a sudden attack – the armored units can surprise the enemy. It would also be interesting to test vampirism on the red armored units; perhaps someone has already tried it, and it works well?

It's really awesome... especially if Laslo is a fallen knight... and vampirism on the Zealots and Sentinels looks just amazing (BD is maxed out – troop gathering, inspiration, and empathy if you manage to use it during battle). During the battle, we speed up the Zealots with Inquisitors, and the hero casts a couple of dark spells (mass spells)... and then the vampire slaughters the soldiers – it's incredibly cool, they fully heal in one turn! :smile03:

Actually, I thought it was a bit strange to vote for heroes from campaigns. After all, they only appear in individual scenarios.

Why start a thread and then just close it? At least ask a question at the end! Most likely, only newcomers are voting for them, I think, because they don't know about the benefits of Dugals and Axels. I remember something about vampirism... if the hero is, for example, Iris, then darkness + vampirism + griffins with infinite retaliation, and not just regular retaliation, look better than usual, and they simply become a winged killing machine with their own initiative!

I'll write about the least popular hero, according to the poll, Elaine. Many people say it's better to take her as a second hero and use her to eliminate peasants. But then, who will the main hero fight with? Especially on the Hero difficulty level. With Elaine as the main hero, we have hordes of militia at the start, paying double taxes and boosted by the hero's special ability. Now let's look at the starting skills: leadership + recruitment. This means the fastest way to get enthusiasm is at level 3 or 4! And then empathy is right there! Archers with high morale from leadership and constantly boosted by the hero will deal much more damage than Dugal. So, Elaine is one of the best heroes for a quick start, and the best (in my opinion) for the Hero difficulty level. Now, a question to avoid derailing the topic. When playing as Mephala, I didn't notice any bonus to Haste. At least, in the spellbook, it was still 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40% in the description. Is there a bonus or not? Maybe someone can explain this.

There is an increase – it’s definitely present in version 3.1.
