Joint tournament "Arena" by HeroesLeague, HeroesPortal, and HeroesWorld.
Tournament rules:
1. General provisions
1.1. The tournament will run from January 29 to March 1, 2010.
1.2. The tournament will be held simultaneously on three websites: HeroesLeague, HeroesPortal, and HeroesWorld.
1.3. The tournament will be played on the following game versions:
Heroes II: Price of Loyalty 2.1 (English), Heroes II: The Price of Loyalty 2.1 (Russian). It is not allowed to play on earlier versions of the game, where many bugs have not been fixed. Playing in DOS and switching between versions is prohibited.
1.4. Any registered user of one of the three forums – HeroesPortal, HeroesLeague, HeroesWorld – can participate in this tournament. An identical final tournament table will be posted on all three sites. However, it is strongly recommended to register on the HeroesPortal, HeroesLeague, and HeroesWorld websites – this way, you can receive bonuses on all three forums.
1.5. The winners of the tournament will receive rewards corresponding to each of the resources (rating, fiefs, arrob, mines) on each of the resources. In the League of Heroes, the winner of the Championship, the most important and final tournament of the year, will receive the title of Champion of the League of Heroes and will proudly wear it throughout the next season.
1.6. ATTENTION!!! Throughout the tournament, the player MUST save at the beginning or end (preferably both) of EACH game day and keep them on their computer! The judge has the right to request daily saves and explanations from ANY player, up to a description of the tactics of a specific battle. If there are no satisfactory explanations (from the judges' point of view), the player's result will be annulled. If the necessary saves are missing, the player will be credited with a loss. The statute of limitations (the period during which daily saves must be kept) is 7 days after the results of the round are announced.
1.7. The tournament hosts are:
HeroesLeague - Dust,
HeroesPortal - Catch,
HeroesWorld - Qwerty.
1.8. The player must name their final save with their nickname and send it to: hmm2@mail.ru
2. Restrictions on gameplay:
2.1. It is strictly FORBIDDEN to use cheat codes, prohibited bugs, and game features in the final playthrough, to hack saves, or to manipulate computer players in hot-seat mode. The use of standard cheat codes is allowed for the purpose of initial save scouting. However, after the scouting is completed, the player must load the starting save and start the game again.
2.2. The rule for digging up the Ultimate Artefact (UA). You can only dig up the UA after visiting ALL obelisks. To prove this, the player must send the organizers, along with their final save, another save that shows that all obelisks were visited before digging up the UA. At the end of the name of such a save, you must add "UA".
2.3. You can use a redeemed escaped/bought-out hero on the day they escaped/were bought out in battle. It is allowed to buy out such a hero on the day of the escape/buyout; you can buy out and use your dismissed/killed hero in battle only on the day after their dismissal/death; if a hero escapes/is bought out/dies in battle during the turn, you can buy them out and use them immediately; it is also not allowed to buy out developed computer heroes (a developed hero is one whose experience, secondary and/or primary skills, the contents of the spellbook, and its presence differ from the standard starting values).
2.4. Visit graveyards, demon caves, and ghost ships. It is allowed to visit ships with skeletons.
2.5. The use of the "Haunt" magic and the "feeding" of spirits is prohibited, i.e., only one battle with a given group of spirits is allowed, and it is mandatory to save before the battle and immediately after it.
2.6. It is forbidden to buy spirits (ghosts).
2.7. It is forbidden to use weeks of +5 monster growth and months of doubled monster growth. If such a week or month appears, the player must "rewind" until that week no longer appears. In case of significant difficulties, the player can write a personal message to the tournament judge, and if the judge decides that this phenomenon does not distort the gameplay, further play is possible.
2.8. Take djinn and the "Sphere of Negation" artifact to the arena.
2.9. Take the "Anduran" to the arena in its assembled form.
3. Tournament goal:
3.1. The goal of the game is to prepare a combat hero.
Within the allotted time, the player tries to develop their hero in the best way, learns the best and most useful magic, recruits the strongest warriors into their army, and collects the most powerful and necessary artifacts in order to then face a similarly developed hero of the opponent in the arena. The player chooses who they will train – a starting hero or another hero.
3.2. After the first stage of the game, the host creates a duel map – the "arena", to which the combatant is transferred with troops identical to the sent save, their arrangement, primary and secondary skills, luck and morale modifiers, mana, and artifacts. All participants who reach the finish will be sent "arenas" with their heroes.
The tournament participants will be divided into several groups (depending on the number of saves sent), in which they will fight each other, earning points. Then, according to the places taken, they will fight with players from other groups, thereby determining the distribution of places in the tournament and identifying the winner.
7 days after the arenas are sent, each player can write their verdict on the results in a reply.
3.3. The final awarding of arena results is carried out by the tournament host.
4. Preparing the final save.
4.1. The final save should be made on the first day of the fifth week (2-1-1).
4.2. All heroes, except the main one, must be dismissed. The hero must be at least level 12.
4.3. The email with the save must contain:
-) the winning save;
-) the subject of the email – the player's nickname;
-) OBLIGATORY indication of nicknames on all three resources;
For example, the subject of the email is Arena - Alex_R,
the email contains an attachment with the save named "Alex_R arena", and the email says: nickname on the League - such and such, nickname on the Portal - Alex_R HW, nickname on the World - Alex_R.
