What are you talking about with these deadlines? Prove later that the map was made in a month, and not a year ago... I think it's easier to post your best, but only 1 map from each author for this nomination, regardless of the year of release.
Pros:
1) The quality of the maps will be better! Why do we need a bunch of unfinished drafts?
2) There will be more maps!
3) More people will know about the map. Consequently, there will be more votes.
Cons:
1) There will be few new maps
2) The spirit of competition will be completely different.
3) The meaning of the competition changes.
Judging by the conclusions, everything can be solved in different ways.
But the main drawback of this type of competition is the low quality of the maps!
But I'm not imposing...
I can't agree with you. How about just one map? We have only a couple of mapmakers. I'm sure that those few mapmakers have more than one work that deserves attention. And deadlines are necessary, precisely to attract new mapmakers or those who have not submitted their maps for review before! Deadlines are generally needed for a clear organization of the competition!

I think it would be better to have participants send their maps to the organizer, and he would post them all on the same day.
It would also be nice to make the voting anonymous, that is, forum users will vote for the maps, and not for the people who made them. This was done when the best artist competition was held; it makes it possible to exclude such logic from voters as: "this person has good maps, I will vote for him." Although I doubt that anyone will do this, but still.
Excellent ideas regarding sending to a moderator (who is not participating in the competition) and regarding voting for maps!
There is still a lot to discuss! I am currently considering further plans and looking for volunteers to help organize the competition (in particular, to promote it through various Heroes forums and chats in different countries, to encourage participation in our competition, and also for those who will monitor for map plagiarism). I ask you to also enlist a couple of reliable comrades!
FOR DISCUSSION WITH TIERU:
What do you think about the evaluation? My suggestion is that both forum users and a commission of moderators who are not participating in the competition should do it! The nominations should include: grand prix, first place, second and third (second and third - if there are enough participants), where first place will be based on the results of forum user voting, and the grand prix will be based on the results of moderator evaluation?

FOR Lux in tenebris
Thank you for your answers and the suggestion regarding moderation; I will think about it!
Question: Is it possible (as Tieru suggests) to collect the maps of the competition participants from a moderator, and then, within the specified time, put them up for evaluation?
I will hope for your support! And it will be useful!
