FreeSmasher has withdrawn from the tournament. He says he's not sure if he'll have enough time. Thanks for the responsible approach. If there are no more changes in the lineup, I can create 7 groups of 5 players each. The top 2 players from each group, plus the two third-place players with the best results, will advance.

Each group has 5 people, so everyone needs to play 4 games in 4 weeks, in any order.

So, let's begin.
There are a few tips and instructions for the participants; I'll try to organize everything I want to draw your attention to.

But first, an announcement:

We play the tournament games in these. In Hamachi, please use your HeroesWorld nickname.

Now, about what's been on my mind: :)

1. Rules.
A boring word, but you can't do without it. Some ask me in ICQ about restrictions, what to do in this or that situation... Sometimes they even ask which towns are allowed. It's all in the rules. And the link to them is in the first post. The rules should become your handbook for the duration of the tournament. You need to know every detail — what level Mullich can be upgraded to, what you can't build in Conflux, what needs to be done to use a scroll, etc.
Pay special attention to breaking through shifted guards.
Remember: if a monster stands and doesn't seem to be guarding anything — it means it's guarding a passage, and you have to kill it to get through.
If something is unclear, don't hesitate to ask. You can do it right in this thread; someone will definitely answer. If you need to clarify something urgently, right in the game — message me, and if I'm around, I'll answer right away. Of course, don't overdo it.

2. Draw.
Let me explain how I did it. I selected 7 people who, in my opinion, are stronger — into the first pot. Another 7 with some online game experience — into the second pot. The rest I randomly distributed into three more pots, and from each pot I drew one player into each group. Thus, in every group there are at least 2 people who have already played online; I'm counting on them for discipline and some guidance for "complete beginners." I ask both sides to be mutually polite and understanding toward each other.

3. Deadlines.
The first part of the tournament is the group stage, from which 16 people will advance to the playoffs. So, this part needs to be completed (and results tallied) by the end of December. We have 4 weeks for everything, and there will be NO round extensions. By the way, several people are already ready to replace those who don't show up. They're mostly waiting for their account activation and my signal. Those who don't appear in the tournament within a week (i.e., haven't played a single game and haven't informed me of their intention to play) — I'll replace. So... better not disappear :) If you run into time or technical issues — let me know immediately.

4. Schedule.
The schedule is very tentative; I've mentioned this several times already to avoid unnecessary questions. You play your rounds in any order, depending on how you arrange it with your groupmates. If possible, you can even play all four rounds in one week and then wait for the others' results.

5. Report Format.
Reports and confirmations are posted in this thread.
IMPORTANT: format them correctly, as per the example:

The winner writes like this:

Below, you can tell about the game as you like. A good old tradition — thank your opponent for the game.

The loser checks the report header and copies it like this:

And below adds whatever they want to say about the game.

Two points:
1) Don't forget to indicate the color, starting town, starting hero, main hero, template (2SM4d(3)), game time (month, week, day).
2) Write nicknames correctly. Some are quite tricky.
So: copy them from the table in the first post, like I just did.
