Previously, Heroes of Might and Magic V worked fine with 512 MB of RAM, but after upgrading to 1 GB of RAM, I get this message when launching the game: "Instruction at address 0x00580788 referenced memory at address 0x00021000. The memory could not be written.

Couldn't find a topic with a similar question (if it exists, please provide a link). I installed Heroes 5 on a HP Pavilion dv5-1179er laptop (CPU: Core 2 Duo P8600, 2.4 GHz, graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, RAM: 3072 MB, video memory: 512 MB) with Vista and DirectX 9.0c installed from the game disc. The game lags terribly and freezes on the map, making it unplayable. However, this doesn't happen in towns. And there are no such issues in the menu or videos, of course. What should I do? All previous Heroes games ran perfectly. As does this one, but only on a desktop computer.

Looks like this is a bug from Nival, they don't seem to like laptops. :smile15:

No matter how many threads I read, in most cases it works fine on laptops :( is there really nothing that can be done?

I don't know how many times this has been asked, but if I, like an idiot, went to download versions 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, without installing versions 1.2 and 1.3 first, how do I remove the earlier versions? I just want to play online!

You have three options: 1) Buy a licensed version of the game; 2) Find a keygen online (which, as far as I know, is almost impossible); 3) Search for a key online by looking for people who don't play anymore but have a key. I think I've said everything, maybe I forgot something.

My friend and I played together in local multiplayer, and we saved the game. How do we load it?

You go to the tavern, click on the sword, give some money, and you'll get the information.
