(, and taking Utopia with nothing on week 2 while lacking experience is a bit much.:)
Wow, the newbies are already thinking about that :) Respect, I haven't taken Utopia on week 2 yet, and I've never planned to do so in real games. Even on week 3, it's usually difficult for me, although it sometimes works out
Added 3 minutes later Dirty_Player
No rules, difficulty 160%, and on the S map - Ciel is an unbeatable hero. Just upgrade the butterflies to 111 and go on the attack. No one can defend. Proven!
Well, it depends on when the encounter happens and who the opponent is. In principle, it's quite possible, for example, to lose a battle against a Miner with mass haste around the end of the second week, even without getting a turn. Not proven, but theoretically more than possible IMHO=\ :)
It all depends on when the encounter happens and who the opponent is. In principle, it is quite possible, for example, to lose to a "Miner" with mass haste around the end of the second week, without even getting a turn. It hasn't been verified, but theoretically it's more than possible, IMHO. :)
On S maps with random layouts, contact usually happens around day 3.
I've been playing Heroes 3 for quite a while now, but after reading your forum, it turns out I don't know how to play at all. I would like to get brief answers to my questions..
SoD is installed over Blade of Destiny.
1. How do I make random maps available? 2. Which patches should be installed to speed up/simplify the game (fast army deployment, etc.)? 3. What does expert Berserk provide and who does it work against? 4. How to properly use units (so enemies don't retaliate)? 5. Is Mysticism a completely useless skill? 5. Pathfinding — as I understand it, the unit should move faster along paths? 6. Bone Dragons age the enemy with their attack; what does "age" mean here? 7. Which spell do Zombies from the same Necropolis cast after attacking? 8. Is there any way to sell found artifacts at Black Markets? 9. Is Water Magic a useful thing? 10. How to conduct complex battles? It's very difficult to imagine and understand this even with screenshots; is it possible to find an instructional video somewhere? And are there any recordings of tournament games, and where can they be watched? 11. Basilisks and Medusas turn enemies to stone during a direct attack; under what condition? Is it random? 12. As I understand it, only losers build the Capitol? All money is smartly earned in battles? 13. Everyone keeps talking about the Angel's Alliance, Angel's Alliance... what is the probability of actually assembling this artifact??? 14. Is First Aid a useful skill? 15. I don't understand the top settings in random maps: - computer players only - computer teams only..
This part isn't clear: how do you set 2 ally colors so that they can be selected?
You need to create some files, but I recommend downloading a good version of Death Breath 3.2 or Complete Collection 4.0 (Platinum Edition). fantreg
2. What patches need to be installed for
faster/easier gameplay (faster army movement, etc.)? To speed up the game, use the Cranim.txt file - it increases the speed of monsters during combat. For faster army movement, use the TE (Tournament Edition) version, but that's a completely different story. fantreg
3. What does Expert Berserk do and against whom does it work?
Berserk forces any unit to attack the nearest unit, regardless of whether it is friendly or hostile. By default, it affects all units except those with immunity to: level 4 magic (Dragons, elementals), fire magic (phoenixes, efreets, elementals), and mind spells (undead, golems, titans). fantreg
4. How to properly use units (enemies do not respond to the attack)?
Wait, attack, move away, etc. fantreg
5. Is Mysticism a completely useless skill?
It's useful, but only in the first week, no more. fantreg
5. Pathfinding - I understand, should it move faster along the roads?
No. Pathfinding removes the penalty for moving through difficult terrain. Basic - stones Advanced - snow, desert Expert - swamp fantreg
6. Bone dragons attack and age the enemy, what does "age" mean?
An aged unit has 50% health. fantreg
7. Zombies from the same Necropolis, what spell do they cast after attacking?
The PLAGUE spell. It reduces attack and defense by 2. It lasts for 3 rounds. fantreg
8. Is there any way to sell found artifacts on the black market?
Not on the black market. Only in artifact merchants, which can be built in the Tower, Dungeon, and Conflux. There is a special option there.fantreg
9. Water magic - is it useful?
Yes, it is. Spells like blessing, healing, dispel, and of course, prayer and clone are very effective. In general, water magic is good because of its versatility. It works well against any magic. fantreg
10. How to conduct complex battles. It is very difficult to imagine and understand this even with screenshots, is it possible to find a tutorial video somewhere? And are there recordings of games from tournaments, and where can they be found?
Someone made a video a long time ago.... fantreg
11. Basilisks and medusas turn enemies to stone upon direct attack, under what condition? Is it random?
Random. The probability is 20%. fantreg
12. Capitol, I understand, is only built by noobs? All the money is earned in battles.
Exactly. fantreg
13. Everyone talks about the Alliance of Angels, what is the probability of actually finding this artifact?
If there are many utopias, the probability is high. The main thing is to find the armor. fantreg
14. First Aid - is it a useful skill?
G fantreg
15. I don't understand the top settings in random maps: - only computer players - only computer teams... it's not clear, how do I make 2 colors of allies so that they can be chosen?
You can set it up in the settings. Either a human or a computer can play for a given color, or only a computer. Setting up alliances on random maps is very difficult. You can set 4 players and 2 teams, but who will be allied with whom will be determined randomly
If you want to team up with a player against the AI, set it to 2 human players and AI opponents, and the rest as AI players. Then, have one team with a human player and AI, and the rest as only AI.
If you want to play a team-vs-team match, you won't be able to choose who plays with whom.
I wanted to ask a question: how can you find out how many units are in the Dwarf Cottage or the Griffin Conservatory in Platinum 4.0? In the video, I saw that they enter there, refuse the battle, and look. I did the same, but I only get the name and "not visited" in brackets, and that's it. Thank you in advance.
They write in canned maps/gnome maps/imp maps, and even on platinum difficulty. Maybe the map version plays a role – if it’s from Shades of Darkness, they write 100%, maybe it doesn’t work on Armageddon’s Blade and The Restoration of Erathia.
10. How to conduct complex battles. It is very difficult to imagine and understand this even with screenshots; perhaps there is a tutorial video somewhere? And in general, are there recordings of games from tournaments, and where can they be viewed?
11. Basilisks and medusas turn creatures to stone upon direct attack; under what condition does this happen? Is it random? 12. I understand that only fools build the Capitol? Shouldn't all the money be earned in battles? 13. Everyone keeps talking about the Angel Alliance... what is the probability of actually collecting this artifact?
