What I always liked about Sawyer was his love for coming up with nicknames for everyone around him. Seriously, I laughed for a long time when he called Miles Genghis Khan :D He constantly referred to Jack as "Doc," and he originally called Juliet "Blondie" (which was translated as "blondie" in the subtitles). And so on.

Sawyer, being a positive character, but with bad traits (a cynical jerk).

I must say that nowadays, an ordinary good guy who saves everyone is unlikely to surprise or please anyone, but characters like this, with the right approach, have a greater chance of success and gaining popularity. Jack isn't entirely clean either, but he's much more "correct" than Sawyer. Although, judging by all accounts, they both have quite a few fans.

And he could have been influenced by 3 years of calm and measured life. The series didn't provide details about how he spent them, but it seems to me that his life was approaching a family life, after all, living in the same house with his beloved girl...

I was most impressed by the episode where Sawyer called Jin Chewbacca (understand why? He communicated through Sun, just like Chewbacca does through Han Solo). :D
