Shakti is a maniac. Especially when he gets 3 slots and a native hero.

Dungeon spawn wasn't great... But the roads are fast + a solid starting army. The side road leads to the surface exit and a secondary, but it's blocked by ГО - black dragons.
I go down, pick up the +1 HP ring, gradually wipe out everyone, run into a max-sized mummy stack, where I lose most of my Troglodytes. Even my tactical tricks didn't help much. I see 2 external dwellings of Eyes, but I go with mushrooms and upgraded Troglodytes instead)

A mini-Naga Bank (Nagas fizzled twice, barely touched me).
I go through the dungeon, pick up a +3/3 artifact behind Wyvern Monarchs, beat a Crusader horde and a mini-conflux.
I emerge onto the surface, do some light scouting, then head into the treasure zone.
I gradually loot the treasure zone, taking Pandora's Boxes without much trouble with my army — they give 15,000 gold plus experience, and 30 Monks with 20 Royal Griffins.
What was nice — 4 (!) external horse dwellings. Plus 2 from teleports...
In total, after waiting a bit and building up the cavalry, I take the pre-max and medium Dragon Utopias. Useful drops were the Sphere of Inhibition, Boots of Speed, and Wings. I buy out the army and head to the opponent, still gathering cavalry along the way.

I let him combine his two armies, but with 42 cavalry and 27 Knights the outcome was sealed. Even in the castle.

And it seems I'm still last in line for a brilliant simultaneous game session. :rolleyes: We agreed on Friday or Saturday, starting at 4 PM Moscow time, but he never showed up online. I'm just disappointed by this attitude towards the game. I'm ready to play every day from 4 PM to 9 PM Moscow time; please let me know if there's an opponent! :)

I wouldn't mind playing against Monstro either; they unfairly gave me a 1-star rating for playing as Academy, and now they'll probably give the other player a 2-star rating... let me lose, but at least it will be fair. ))))) IMHO.

Guys, thank you for waiting for Monstro. None of you even mentioned a technical victory, and everyone agreed to play with him in the last few days. Although it was clearly not in Erdem's and ~no1_knows_me's~ best interest to take risks, both of them were willing to negotiate with him and were looking for him yesterday. You don't really have anything to worry about: playing with Monstro_aka_h3 is up to you; if you don't play, it will be considered a technical defeat.

Logically, ~no1_knows_me~ and Erdem should advance to the playoffs, taking first and second place respectively.

I promised two days, and I can't take it back. And losing two days isn't that critical. Recently, the "SOY Spring-2009" tournament ended – it was intense! But in general, your group is really great – you didn't disappoint! I wish everyone a successful finish to the tournament, good luck!

P.P.S. toMonstro_aka_h3: playing with 3 heroes for more than a week and running Galthran on zombies is somehow not very "manly" :). I hope future opponents are less lucky.

I confirm, the distribution wasn't great, I should have asked for a rest (collected 50 skeletons at the start), but I saw a lich giver nearby and decided to play; besides, there was an ore crisis (blocked by a hundred teenagers), so I couldn't properly build levels 1-4 in the Stronghold, + the opponent intercepted my Gosh once and I had to pay them off. I didn't gain momentum although I highlighted 2 Dragon Utopia and treasure zone; if the opponent had dragged it out for another week, perhaps the situation would have changed.

Sorry, but life isn't just divided into online; there's little time left and problems arise outside of Heroes, especially since the game doesn't move quickly. I'll try to play today. But I now realize that it's better not to drag out tournaments; people play slowly, it's not comparable to a regular seasonal game. A season can be played through in 2-3 hours, but here you have to play for a couple of days =)

Quarterfinals
First week: Long roads, large and scarce respawn, external dwelling near the castle level 5,6 — guards Dendroids (20-49), three roads led, one had over 100 Centaur and Orcs (20-49), another had Dendroids (10-19), I didn't go (troops: Orcs 7, Goblins 17, Hounds 12, Roc 3) and the third was just insane, a triple block of Archers: Eyes (20-49), Archers (20-49) and a horde of Lizardmen. Left without secondary skills, Seven heroes with nothing to do!!! 1-5 in the castle, +1000 gold, external dwellings level 1, 2.
Second week: Took two secondary towns: Titans (a blue scout is at the bottom near the ore, can't get through (Archers)) and Humans. Installed Behemoths and greened the Roc. No money. Medusa farm is in a dead end (only wasting days on it), at the Titan respawn: a Naga Bank and a Thunderbird farm (far, didn't go, had more important things to do). That's it!!!
Third week: Finally took the external dwellings level 5,6 (horde of Dendroids, had grown by the second week). Installed Cyclopes. No money and none expected. Preparing to take another secondary town (Inferno).
Fourth week: Took Inferno, Griffin Conservatory level three and a Pandora's Box (horde of frenzied Vampires). Got a good beating there: had 3 Angels and 23 Rocs, ended with 2 Angels, 17 Rocs and 0 mana. Earth not Expert and 12 Vampires per stack. +15,000 experience.
Fifth week: News!!! Gunnar comes out of the underground onto the Human respawn. Takes the castle, I see he has no mana, didn't refill, went to the Hive, above the castle. "Papa" by that time is rushing headlong towards Gunnar (no mana and can't let him get home). Six heroes are passing the army along a chain. I attack. Deesa: 17 Cyclopes, 2 Angels, 7 Behemoths, 113 Hounds, 24 Thunderbirds, 3 Rocs, 56 Orcs. Gunnar: 45 Beholders, 4 Wyverns, 11 Minotaurs, 5 Manticores, 3 Crystal Dragons, 24 Troglodytes. He runs away with two Eyes. I head to the Main castle. Kill him there.
