In general, Necromancers are the strongest: you can breed improved skeletons up to 1-2 thousand, and then no Titans, Phoenixes, Goblins, or Fairies will help. However, Vampire Lords do have problems in battle against the Conflux: it's better to leave the Fairies at home, and you won't get much life out of the Phoenixes. On small and perhaps medium-sized maps, Elementals are stronger: the skeletons may not have time to multiply. I think these are the 2 strongest cities.
This cannot be said about the Snow Monsters: the city is quite strong, but incredibly expensive and requires a considerable amount of all resources (for mages, the library, etc.). Besides, this is the only city where the warrior commanders are not very good (they gain few useful skills in mysticism, literacy, and learning). And in the corresponding topic, most people (including me) preferred warriors over mages.

Conflux is definitely unmatched, unless there are some special circumstances on the map, such as legions of small monsters surrounding Necromancers or super artifacts. A hero with Phoenixes goes first, which allows them to cast spells first, and the Phoenix growth is overpowered. 2,000 skeletons will quickly disappear against a fast hero with Phoenixes, good magic power, and a 5th-level Earth magic spell in the late game. And there's no need to even talk about the early game – the firebirds allow you to defeat almost all neutral creatures without losses, and they are easy to build.

I understand that this might not be entirely relevant, but if I remember correctly, not all spells affecting the mind work, or rather, they don't work on everyone.
If my memory serves me right, in such cases, they become as vulnerable as Necropolis creatures, even though those have complete immunity to blindness and, I think, to berserk (which used to annoy me a lot).
P.S. I think that undead and elementals are two races that are completely opposite to each other, meaning undead don't get skeletons and don't replenish their losses by using bones.

For those interested, a tournament is ending on the portal: Necropolis with no restrictions versus Conflux with no restrictions. As expected, it's roughly equal, although Conflux has a slight advantage towards the end of the first week and the beginning of the second week.

Hmm... and how long did the game last? Judging by the number 80 Phoenixes, it lasted about 4-6 months.
I think that switching to a normal opponent instead of an AI one will make this trick not work.

IMHO, if the Tower doesn't manage to develop into Titans, Necropolis with Conflux will defeat it; if it does, it will defeat the Conflux. If only Necropolis and Conflux remain, Necropolis will defeat them, but if Tower and Necropolis remain (considering the Tower has Titans), the Tower will defeat Necropolis.

Don't forget about the heroes' specializations. In the Conflux, mages don't just have enhanced spells; they have spells with increased effectiveness! And I won't even mention the Moon faction.:smile14:

Yes, I used Moon spell on 1-2-6 Guardian Orb against 50 upgraded Black Knights.
Magic - only Wall of Fire, and the spell power was only 6 (Moon spell level 10). In online battles, the losses were 1 angel (out of 2), 1 psionicist, and 7 water elementals.

In the same game, on 1-2-1, 17 manticores were defeated by 5 fire elementals.
I lost that game, but it's irrelevant here; there was nowhere else to go but to the Guardian Orb.

Similarly, Moon spell can be used against nagabanks and gnome towns...

A battle I’m very proud of. On day 114, a level 2 Moon creature with a basic fire attack deals 50-99 damage to ogre mages. Played online. Losses: 1 air elemental and 3 butterflies.
