I got Rampart vs Necropolis in the randomizer - well, I thought, things are bad. Ended up with 4300 for red Rampart - and it turned out not bad.
Already on 111 I muscled my way onto the opponent's gold - bought 7 heroes, spread out. The castle has plenty of gold - excellent. On 112, a group of elves, I move to my necro-secondary. There's a stable there, but the passes on all three roads are heavily guarded - champions, a horde of minotaurs, a horde of pegasi. Had to wait until the second week. Meanwhile, on 115, I built unicorns and took the minimal medusa pool. On 116 - the medusa pool for 8, then the conservatory-minimal, where I only lost 3 dendroids and 3 pegasi. On 117, the scout hero takes another medusa factory for 4, Ivor breaks into the secondary, buys a spell book and learns Slow and Shield to advanced earth magic. Build order - unicorns and citadel, as always, I leave gold for buying up.
On 121, Ivor levels up earth magic on pegasi and the guard of the second conservatory, goes in - and it's another minimal! Very frustrating, but nothing to be done. I run to the stable, Marius breaks through the minotaurs and paints another town. I see a free entrance to the treasury - a horde of gold golems, I beat them, then Marius kills the sharpshooters for Pandora's box on the road - there are 30 magogs. On 123, Ivor takes a dwelling for 4 wyverns, breaks through to a village, from where a passage to the necromancers is visible, they bring him a cap +4, and he visits a well. On 124, Ivor in another treasury takes a dwelling for 6 wyverns, and Fiona the expert explorer goes to the opponent. On 125, Ivor takes the enemy's necro-secondary, and on 126 attacks Galthran in the castle:
Ivor (6, 6, 7, 7 (70)), +1 health, expert attack, archery, earth, water, and logistics, 63 centaurs (level 9), 25 magogs (5), 32 grand elves (6), 2 angels (3), 10 wyverns (1), 4 unicorns (4), 5 pegasi (3), Lightning Bolt for 185
vs.
Galthran (4, 4, 10, 4 (50)), +1 health, expert defense, wisdom, mysticism, basic intelligence and earth magic, 15 vampire lords (1), 1+1+1+1+1 skeleton, 172 skeleton warriors (4), Ice Bolt for 210.
Terrible anti-morale on my troops (the angels managed to skip turns 3 times - so they died) led to heavy losses, only 2 pegasi, 4 unicorns, 8 elves, and 47 centaurs survived. But victory was achieved!
Thank you for the game.
Pit - respect!
...I would like to know, is this the final result in your match, or did you agree to play more games?
Unfortunately, I most likely won't be able to participate this time - May-June is exam season - I'm very short on time. However, if someone on heroes.by wants to play a single match with me on the Panic template, we can do it outside of the competition, I would be happy to:smile33:
I will upload the saves from the first game in the evening.
Samurai(blue,Fortress,Брогхильд,Брогхильд) def Dirty Player(red,Conflux,Монер,Мефала), 8mm6,127
match against the RuNet.
121 first Dragon Utopia, for 2 gold: shield+12, book of fire. 124 upgraded 42 wyverns and took the second Dragon Utopia: minimum loot with junk. 125 took the reds' home town, spotted a Dragon Utopia right under their Castle + another 3 at different ends of the map. 126 took the reds' Dragon Utopia: there was a teapot, sword of justice, gladius. Was defeated, prepared to take another Dragon Utopia on 127, then came the surrender.
Thanks for the game!
1-0
I've started to doubt the "balance" of TE more and more. Брогхильд is a monster, even cooler than Мюллих, Галтран, Киррь all in one person. I might be wrong, of course, but Wyverns with 90-100 hp are just too strong, especially if there are several hives nearby. Plus, the highest chance to get an explorer.
P.S.: And the 8mm6 template is very interesting indeed. I recommend it!
There were games where Brogh was completely screwed regarding money and caches (while the opponent was swimming in them), but after building up 50 vivs, he would arrive at the end of the 2nd or beginning of the 3rd and establish the advantage of one uber-stack over a group of simply strong stacks. Once he killed a flaks double-build this way. Another time a ramparts double-build.
Now that is truly imba. But here, Samurai just got lucky with the layout, nothing special. Dragon Utopia on 121 is a rarity even for the swamp.

Why not just ban Broghild, like they ban Sir Mullich or Vidomina in SoD? I'm sure if there were an angel specialist for Castle, he'd be the first one banned :D
if there was a specialist for angels in the Castle faction, he would be banned first :D

Человек - игрушка Бога. Этому - то и надо следовать. Надо жить играя.
Платон.
No one will argue about the setup; it happened as it happened. I wouldn't give the Swamp to Cherk either, but what if the randomizer chooses it? Give away 10,500? :D

Banning heroes is not in the spirit of TE. They usually get nerfed with the next patch.
What were the bets?
Brogh isn't insanely dominant; I consider Tazar to be on the same level as him in TE (Tazar's level-up rolls are almost always excellent too). That's why I often play Tazar against Broghild, giving the opponent the hero choice. Here the outcome depends more on the layout and the number of Wyverns.
Nerfing Broghild is stupid IMO. I only place Behemoths in the swamp in 50-60% of cases. I've never placed Hydras on week 1. Personally, tempo on 8 mm is more important to me, and on 115-116 I try to plan out moves 121-123, with capturing the center and scouting being especially important. Tempo requires gold for buying out on 121, which I sometimes lack if I have Behemoths. That's my view of the game. I got lucky with Dirty, I won't argue, there were a fair number of Dragon Fly Hives, but I didn't place Behemoths, it was a double build. :)
Thanks for the game!
Moving wolves around isn't my thing :) Next time I play Barbarian, I'll take an Orc Archer
