No... it's not like a unit from the Sylvan faction, considering the attack on all targets, attack, and defense, they are excellent warriors, but for a Warlock... they are primarily a survival unit... IMHO.

if you're playing 1v1, there's really no point in building them, even on closed maps.

I'm only playing Dungeon right now. Maybe if I play single-player maps or campaigns, I'll try someone else, but for now, I still have a lot to figure out with Dungeon.
I'm not sure about acceptable losses, which skills are best, and which skills are a priority with which troops, what kind of hero we need if a Rynn shows up and steals our Iran, and so on.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but if you look closely at the statue of the goddess in the castle from the inside, she's wearing at least some clothes. However, if you look at it from the street...

Can't Dungeon defeat Necropolis...? When I play as them, I easily defeat Necropolis... they're actually quite good...

That's what computers are for.

Hydras are indeed powerful, and I agree that their attacks are excellent.
