I remember back in the day (I was in the third grade), I didn't have a computer at home, so I played at my parents' workplace. There was an old computer there with an old 80286 processor, and I think some of you might remember it. There was a game called King's Bounty on it. I got really hooked on it and played it all day long. Then, a few years later, I saw the first Heroes game at an internet cafe. It looked kind of similar to King's Bounty, but it wasn't quite the same. At that time, I didn't really appreciate it, and I didn't even remember the name. And then, around the year 2000, when I finally had a computer at home, someone recommended that I get the third Heroes game. So I bought the disc and played it, and it was pretty good. Then I gradually got into it and started to enjoy it, and then I played the fourth and fifth games.

I started playing Heroes of Might and Magic V right away. And then, when I had learned how to play more or less, I tried Heroes of Might and Magic III. It turned out to be just… very, very bad. After all, these are completely different games!

I started with Heroes 4, then moved on to Heroes 3, and finally Heroes 5... but I like Heroes 3 the most.

I started playing when I was very young, around the age of 3, which might be why it didn't impress me much. I played Heroes 4 consciously and even started winning against the computer on the "recruit" difficulty level. I played for days on end. In a computer store, I heard a guy say that a beta version of Heroes 5 had been released, and that he had played it, saying that "the graphics are great, and the engine is from Heroes 3." I eagerly awaited the release of Heroes 5. My initial impressions were mixed; I had many criticisms (see all the discussion threads about Heroes 5 from the past year!!!). With the release of the expansions, things improved, and now I'm satisfied with everything. Well, almost everything.

I started with the second game in the series. It was around 1997-98. It was one of my favorite games. I loved the graphics. A year or two later, my brother got Heroes 3. After the colorful, cartoonish graphics of the second game, the graphical drabness of the continuation of the series was initially perceived negatively. But after starting to play, I realized that the tactics and possibilities were wider than in the second game, and the graphics weren't as bad as they initially seemed, and... it just took off)) I played it for about 5 years with breaks.
My classmates refused to play the fourth game. They said it was terrible. So, I lost interest. In 2006, there was the fifth game... But I didn't play it for long because I quickly got bored of it.

Still my favorite game, from the first installment to the fifth (except for the fourth). I started playing in 1996, and the first time I sat down at the computer, I didn't get up for about 20 hours. It was on a 486, but with a color monitor, and the joy was indescribable :) I figured it out very quickly because before that, in 1995, I played King's Bounty 1, and it fit quite well on a 5-inch floppy disk:rolleyes:.
From 1997 to 2003, I didn't play at all because I didn't have the opportunity, but in 2003, after buying a computer, I bought Heroes 3 within an hour, and it all started again:smile13:, I was almost late for school a couple of times because of it, although I was already working as a computer science teacher at that time.:D :D :D

Oh, that's an old story))) It happened back in 2002. Basically, my sister got Heroes 2 as a gift, and then my brother came over to set up the computer and do all sorts of things (I didn't know much about computers back then:D, but now I do, and I even graduated with a degree in "Technical Maintenance of Computing Equipment and Computer Networks":cool:), and he told me, "You have Heroes 3 installed." I said, "Cool." So, my brother started bringing me games all the time, all sorts of games, and he would play them himself. Sometimes he would stay over. And one day, I came home from school and saw my brother sitting there playing something. I asked him what he was playing, and he said, "Heroes 3." Then I started watching him play, and I thought, "There's some kind of horse with a flag running around, attacking someone, and there are these castles that I don't understand." I thought it was some kind of bad game. And for about a month, I kept watching, trying to figure out what was going on and how it worked)). We would just sit up all night with my brother)). Then one day, I thought I'd try playing it. At first, I got killed quickly, but then I started to understand how to play. I would just sit there for days and play. Two years passed (it was 2004), and a friend came over. I suggested we play Heroes, and he agreed. As we were playing, I explained everything to him (we always played as allies, and we still do). My friend got hooked, and we started hanging out at his place to play. Even his mom would kick us out, but we'd just keep playing until the very last turn:D :D :D And now, 9 years have passed, and I'm still playing Heroes 3 with my friend. Although, as soon as Heroes 5 came out, we started playing that too)). So, I have a lot of experience with the Heroes games. I've developed my own tactics. And now, my friend and I are waiting for Heroes 6 to come out:). :cool: :cool: :cool:
P.S. Sorry for the long story, but I really wanted to tell it in detail. And right now, as I'm writing this, Heroes 3 is running. I can't go a day without it:D

Bought the disc at a store, installed it, played through the campaign, then started playing against the computer, then online, then through Hamachi... What's there to tell?

And if it's not a secret, what is ХВ? I didn't understand this abbreviation. Could you tell me more about this movement?

Judging by your posts, you really love the game and play it often. That's why I'm surprised that you don't play on our forum with local masters and others :-). There are Tournaments, including "Novichok 2011," other more serious tournaments, including those with cash prizes. And just a season, games for rating.

I learned to play at Moscow State University, at the department of HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC.

About 5 years ago, when I just bought a computer, a friend gave me a few disks to install, and among them was Heroes of Might and Magic III: Armageddon's Blade. I installed it, launched it, and... didn't understand anything =). What attracted me was the huge number of different creatures, and it was interesting to find out who was the strongest and who I didn't need to be afraid of. At first, I lost EVERY time, until that same friend came over and showed me what and how to do. That's when I got hooked.

A friend showed me Heroes V. I liked the game and bought it for myself. As for learning how to play... I figured it out on my own.
