So, the time has come to announce the start of the qualifying cycle for the

Best of Heroesworld

tournament. The qualifying round will be conducted using a Swiss system to identify the 10 strongest players of HeroesWorld; this time, 10 players will be selected, while in the next qualifying tournament only 4 players will make it through—the two strongest of whom will enter the same top 10 of HeroesWorld, and the other two will play against the two weakest players from that top 10 for the right to join.
Special conditions for participating in the Best of HeroesWorld tournament:
Players who manage to make it into the top 10 winners must agree not to participate in inter-portal tournaments against the HeroesWorld team, and they will have the honor of representing the interests of the HeroesWorld team in such inter-portal tournaments.
The two players knocked out of the top 10 strongest must also agree not to participate in inter-portal tournaments against HeroesWorld and will hold the status of substitute players for the HeroesWorld team throughout the season.
After determining the 10 strongest players, the tournament will be divided into 2 parts.
Part 1 - qualifying tournament - Swiss system - 2 people advance + 2 fight with #7 and #8 of the "mighty bunch" :D (#9 and #10 are eliminated accordingly)
Part 2 - main tournament - round-robin over several rounds among the "mighty bunch" - 2 are eliminated.
Both tournaments start simultaneously, therefore #9 and #10 of the "mighty bunch" will not be able to participate in the qualifiers until next season.
Tournament feature:
each round will take place on different templates, such as 2sm4d(3), Jebus Cross, 8mm6 and others. (I still have time to think and consult on which other ones we can play). Given the limited number of playable templates, some will have to be repeated, so different rounds may also take place on the same template.
Regarding versions and rules:
we will use seasonal rules, game version SoD 3.2 (4.0) or by mutual agreement TE 1.03q or TE Lite, turn time 6 min, which may be changed by mutual agreement.

I think everyone who wants to play will manage to apply within 2 weeks. If more than 10 people apply, we will start on February 28.
Please pay special attention to the following point:
Before registering for any tournament on HeroesWorld, you must understand that you become a part of it and its execution depends on you as one of the players. To create an overall positive impression of the tournament, it is necessary to follow its rules and show respect to the organizers and participants. An important component of a good tournament is the completion of all scheduled matches. To reduce the percentage of unplayed matches, this rule regulates the maximum number of possible missed matches—no more than 30% of the total number of matches and no more than one match in a row by one player; also, the penalty for violating this rule—if a player does not respond to proposals to play tournament games—is a ban from participating in tournaments on HeroesWorld for 6 months. If a player has valid reasons to refuse participation in the tournament and informs the organizer during the course of the tournament—a ban from participating in the next same-type tournament on HW.
That is, if you have some reason that prevents matches from being played on time, or the entire tournament—inform me via ICQ or PM; you do not need to specify the reason, and then you will only be disqualified from the next tournament.

ATTENTION! changes have been made to the rules! (2.03.09) for templates with map sizes XL and XL + U :

Rules are practically no different from seasonal ones except for points 2, 3.10 and 3.12, settings: XL+U, 8 players, turn time 6 minutes.
2. Restarts:
Each player has the right to take 2 restarts during the first day of play—start the game over with a new map generation.
3.10. Using "Angel Wings" and the spells "Fly" and "Dimension Door" when moving from one zone to another is allowed only if the guard between them has been defeated.
3.12. It is forbidden to penetrate neighboring territories without defeating the guard standing in the passage (i.e., if it is shifted). If two or three guards are scattered along the road, any one of your choice must be defeated.
In case of bugged passages between zones, you can move to a neighboring zone only if ГО has been defeated toward the center from both zones.

Kostya, could you provide examples and explain the different scenarios? Because up until now, I've only studied the round-robin format. We need everything to be as usual, but with 1 + 2, 3 + 4 places, and as I understand it, even someone who lost 1 match can still get 1st place...

I hope we see all the strongest players in the world on the list of participants, and maybe we can even learn more from them this time.
