I completely agree with Anako! Elves have always been the most beautiful race! And the fifth installment of Heroes of Might and Magic is no exception! It should always be this way ;) And even their dark counterparts are far from the forest elves, although the Furies and the Mistresses of Shadows turned out quite well! :)

Elves, although my favorite castle is the Necropolis, are truly amazing in terms of aesthetics. Just look at one of their castles – it’s simply SUPER!

The Druids have the best design. Then the Dancers. The Archers have a rather serious face. Beautiful dragons, and of course, the Battle Unicorns (the regular ones are also good). The Castle is the best!

The fairies are great too!!! Of course, they aren't as "cute" as in the previous installments; here, they seem more powerful!!! I like it!!! :)

The castle is indeed awesome! I really like it! And there's also this fog sometimes (or is it just my computer glitching?):) And the music... there are no words! (although I think we already talked about it:rolleyes: ) But still :) It's so ethnic, it's perfect! ;)

I love falling asleep to this music!!!:rolleyes: Especially after playing Heroes before bed!!! It's really beautiful, otherworldly, amazing!!!:) I took some screenshots of the castle and set them as my desktop background!!! When someone comes into my room and sees this beauty, they admire it for a long time!!!:D

Yeah, I agree!!!! I also really like it (if that word is appropriate here)! When my friends come over, they also look at my desktop for a long time, and then they say: "Well, Yulka, you're crazy! You're completely obsessed!" :D I generally like ethnic music. By the way, why isn't it in the "What kind of music do you like?" poll?<

The music in the Elven Castle isn't bad, but I'm so sleepy that I can barely stay in my chair... But the Necropolis music! - It's terrifying, I'm almost afraid to fall asleep!

I don't like elves — they seem kind of weak. In my top 6 races, they take 6th place.
Fairies — the retaliation ability is useful, although they hit weakly. Otherwise, they are generally weak; they can only give a run for their money to peasants and skeletons. And their spells are weak too.
Dancers — terrible weaklings, but if they reach the shooters, there could be problems.
Archers — the most useful units the elves have. I realized this when playing the 2nd campaign for Inferno. They hit hard, and twice over, while masters also slow down own enemies.
Druids — also good, especially high ones. Once they cast an area-of-effect spell — count your losses!
Unicorns — fast, although not particularly hardy. They resist magic well, but not always. The ability to blind is useful, but it also doesn't work all the time.
Ents — like a terribly sluggish tree that is problematic to kill. Rarely useful in battle due to their size and slowness.
Green/Emerald dragons — level 7, but they die way too quickly for some reason. Plus, immunity only to earth magic — black dragons are better.

No one argues that elves are super strong and that they are stronger than everyone else!!! But many will say that this is the most beautiful race!!! I would even say it's a MASTERPIECE!!!

Yeah, you can't get far on looks alone.
And their dark counterparts are still better, because they are much stronger, and dark elves are not inferior in beauty to their light counterparts.
But in general - I agree, their city is very beautiful, and the music is good. Although I like the music of Haven the most (in the castle).

but in general, it's silly that everyone lives like ants in one tree (I won't even mention Haven, but at least they have a castle, even if it's mobile). It would be better if it were a forest plantation, but that wouldn't be as beautiful.
P.S. Elves are people with donkey ears.

Even the dragons of the Sylvan faction have pointed ears :)

In general, I have a great love and respect for elves. Ever since I read "The Lord of the Rings." The modern concept of elves, as we imagine them, was created by Tolkien. Before that, they were depicted with fairy-like wings on their backs :) It's a pity that in Heroes of Might and Magic they turned out to be so weak. And their heroes are not very impressive either :(

6th place :) :) :) With that same logic, I could send Dungeon to 7th place (Dungeon fans - don't be offended, and please don't hit me over the head). Judging a race without knowing it well is, to say the least, foolish) And in my opinion, you have very little experience playing as Sylvans (no offense).

Dryads can only outclass peasants and skeletons? Give me a break:D - they are one of the strongest level 1 units. No retaliation, multi-target attack, high initiative, they fly, and they cast spells (bees aren't great, of course... but dispel magic is a very useful thing).

Dancers are terribly weak? Weaker than furies - yes, but terribly weak - absolutely not. Their goal is light infantry and shooters, and against them, they are very, very good considering their initiative and speed, plus they attack up to 8 targets (only the primary target retaliates, so if you strike smartly, you can get maximum effect with minimum losses).

Archers - here our opinions align. Key units for the elves. I wish they had more health and a bit more defense. But as it is - very high damage for level 3 ((5-8 damage)*2=painful), plus the enchanted arrow. My favorites:)

Druids - all-rounders. Both shooters and casters in one bottle, and they're actually quite good at both casting and shooting. High attack and defense stats + decent health. Very useful comrades - especially at the start of the game)

Unicorns - the most useful creatures in the Sylvan army.
"Unicorns are fast, although not particularly hardy. They resist magic well, but not always. The ability to blind is useful, but also doesn't always work." If comparing them to hydras - yes, they have less health, but there is one BUT. Hydras have their own tasks and tactics - unicorns have theirs. Not only do Unicorns have a Resistance Aura (which works quite well), but they also blind on hit.
The "Lucky" skill is a must for any self-respecting Ranger, which means the Unicorns' Blinding will work very often (sometimes even too often), and that is very unfortunate for the enemy army. Besides all that, Attack and Defense are on point, and 77 health points is not a bad stat among level 5s. One of the best units of its level across all races. Also my favorites:)

Ents - the best tanks in the game.

For words like those, any self-respecting Sylvan would nail you to a wall (no offense :) ) Let me repeat - these are TANKS, their job is to protect, to take the hit, not to wipe out crowds of enemies in one blow. They don't need initiative like furies, or the charge damage of paladins; they need high defense and lots of health, and they have it. 180 HP - almost like level 7 creatures, defense - one of the highest in the game, and the highest if they dig in. Entangle is a headache for the opponent, and if you manage to entangle several enemy stacks before digging in... Not only does the defense increase by 1.5 times in the "entrenched" position, but this "little tree" also retaliates to all attacks. An elf army without Ents is not an army. They are a key unit.

Emerald Dragons - yes, in terms of damage, they are the weakest level 7 (though the difference isn't that big), but the fastest (14 initiative), plus like Black Dragons - they can attack 2 targets. Attack, defense, and health stats are on par with their "colleagues" (level 7 creatures). One can argue for a long time about who is better - Black, Emerald, or Archangels (as well as Titans, Bone Dragons, Arch-Devils). But each has its own pros and cons.

And then there's a feature called "Sworn Enemy".

In conclusion. My apologies if I offended anyone with this message.
Raelag - I understand this is your opinion, but you are judging too biasedly and with little experience playing the Light-eared ones, be a bit more careful:) .

2 snowball Do Ents take the hit for others?! How does that work? Well, if we have a strategy and can position them in front of Dryads, Druids, and Archers! But they won't have time to run forward and entangle and hold them so they can finally take the hit. By the way, they're more like angry excavators than tanks. :)
It's good that they didn't give them ears! By the way, about the design! Didn't they overdo it with the ears?! That's why the Sylvan units look a bit funny. :) But that's better than fat peasants and zombies, who should actually be thin and miserable.
P.S. Of all the Sylvan units, I like the Unicorns the most.
