Hi everyone. I'm not very original – I came here with my own problem and a request for help. We're trying to play with a friend over the network (same provider – Domolik), both of us have the same version of Hamachi, we connect to the network, ping each other, and see each other. Firewalls and antivirus programs are disabled. She starts the game, creates a server, I join, I see it, I try to connect, but it says "Session interrupted, please try again." We have the same versions (when they were different, it said "Sorry, different versions, nothing I can do..."). This problem occurs regardless of who creates the server. We both have EVERYTHING turned off (I can post screenshots if needed), but neither of us can join the game. We tried playing without Hamachi (Game Spy Arcade) – the same result. There, we can't join each other's rooms, the option doesn't even light up. (There, after joining a room, it's like you're playing – the program automatically starts the game and creates the server and sets everything up, you just press a button and you're in the game). What could be causing this, at least? Could our network, the provider, be blocking it? It's a dedicated, high-speed network. My friend doesn't have an unlimited data plan. Could that be the problem? We're desperate. We don't know what to even guess, what's the problem? Help!

Here are the standard problems. I would divide them into several categories:
I) Connection problems
1) Very slow internet or satellite internet (when trying to play on maps larger than M, there is a timeout and disconnection)
2) The connection is frequently interrupted (satellite)
II) Port blocking
1) The Windows firewall is simply not disabled
2) The antivirus blocks it
3) The modem or router blocks it
4) When trying to play RoE with other versions, the server is not visible - what can you do about it...
III) Pirated SoD/Platinum
1) It kicks you out when attacking neutrals/entering a Castle
2) It kicks you out for no reason :)
3) When attacking an opponent, nothing happens - a patch to 58f will help (if the game is from one disc)
IV) Hamachi problems
1) Blue arrow - (slow exchange through the Hamachi server - play on M and everything is fine)
2) No ping - well, who cares, we still play, why panic...
3) Other problems are possible - just install PLan or GameSpy
4) The Hamachi server is overloaded - similar to option 3
5) To avoid entering the IP address every time, select Hamachi as the primary adapter
V) Problem with choosing Castles
1) - Just hide the maps and saves from Heroes (except for a couple here and there)
1.1) Reinstall The Shadow of Death and install a normal patch 3.2 (do not change the executable, just patch it)
VI) Sometimes, despite everything, it is extremely difficult to connect with certain people - find a 3rd person and ask them to create a server

This topic should contain descriptions of specifically resolved problems and concrete individual solutions. When enough of these individual cases are accumulated, the material will be of undeniable value. This will save people from headaches and save time.

We struggled for a long time with the connet, which is why the game took so long to develop, but we overcame the errors when loading the game (if anyone needs it, contact us for a fix).

To clarify the solution, I'll immediately say that it doesn't apply to situations where players can't connect to each other's games. Such issues are usually resolved by having three players create a server, both players connect to it, and then one of them exits the game options. However, this is inconvenient during restarts.

This solution is for the situation we had with WBN. Both players have a fast internet connection. But in Hamachi, we are indicated to each other with blue arrows. We enter the game without any problems, but as soon as we start loading it, the ping in Hamachi immediately disappears, the loading percentage stops, and errors appear. Repeatedly clicking "continue" to resume data transfer and loading the game does not help, and one of the players is kicked out, even if it happens at 98%!!!

Here's the remedy:

1. Launch Hamachi. Check the ping (check availability). If there is no ping, restart Hamachi until it appears.
2. Launch the game. Enter, select all options and castles.
3. We have three windows open: the game, Hamachi, and the ping window. Click "start game." The loading process begins.
4. As soon as the loading percentage stops, the ping disappears, and after some time, an error will appear (click "continue"). As soon as the ping disappears, we immediately restart Hamachi (since there is no data transfer during the loading process anyway).
5. The ping appears. But the loading percentage will no longer be displayed, although the game is actually loading. When the ping disappears again, repeat the steps described in point 4.
6. Result: 100%. The player who connected to the server restarts Hamachi (although I think this is not essential - it just shows the loading percentage).

If this helps anyone, let me know that I didn't waste my time writing this.

I haven't heard of MCN. There's a program called X-fire; it doesn't emulate IP addresses, but it can easily find game servers on the internet – unfortunately, I've only tested it on unrealGOTY. There's also pLan – it has a slightly different system: you create a room (and you can also join it), and you see a list of all the rooms and players, and there's a chat. There's also GameSpy, but I haven't used it.

Each has a four-port router. So, we set up Hamachi. I host, and everyone else connects to me. The ping is good, everything is green, and there are no problems. Firewalls are disabled, and no one has installed any firewall software on their computers. Antivirus software is also disabled. I create a game. The others enter my IP address and try to connect. The game is found, but when they connect, there's a suspicious pause, after which the players are not allowed to join. We tried hosting in another local network, and the same problem occurs. Where did we make a mistake?
