Small, with a small amount of Chaos magic, there's not much benefit. IMHO, it's better to upgrade what enhances the soldiers. Elaine's peasants don't fight any better than other heroes' peasants. They just bring in more money. I happily buy her and let her wear out the peasants if I'm short on funds. And I'm often short on funds.

Try the strategy with Axel. Paladins are divided into 3 stacks. The second upgrade is used to attack two stacks at once. They move early, so there's an opportunity to attack 6 stacks at the beginning, and the Tactics skill is beneficial. With Axel in command, it becomes truly powerful. In a week, with just one gold mine, without harming the economy, I could train 7-8 paladins.

Heh) Rutger even at level 10 runs around like an ostrich, although as a main hero, he's not very effective. If I'm lucky and he appears in the tavern, I take him as a courier to quickly move troops around. And as my first hero, I always choose Laslo - no matter what, the armored units and zealots are good (in terms of armor) units. I always rely on them.

But I was surprised that Axel is leading in the poll. No matter what I do, I can't seem to use "Overlord" effectively.

Yes, Rutger is good as a courier, but I prefer Dugald as my main hero.

Yeah, that's right! Judging by the poll results, many people enjoy resolving conflicts without any problems, i.e., from a distance.

I prefer Frida, Godric, Duncan, Isabelle, and Iris, but since it's more realistic to play as Iris, I prefer her, especially since her ability is the best of all the Knights:smile54:.

The best hero is definitely Vittorio, the engineer =). He starts easily with his machines, and while playing him in long battles can be challenging, if the map is small and has around 10 levels, Vittorio is the best.

Dugald is better for small maps, as he levels up quickly. And he's not bad for large maps either.

If you level up Iris, the Battle Griffons become a meat grinder... So, Iris is a good choice. But if you don't like Griffons, you can take Dugal instead.

It's difficult to start with Dugalom; much depends on the archers. If you fight with archers at the beginning, you can lose many units and then it will be difficult. But Vita with a ballista is more versatile and doesn't mind losing units as much.

I prefer Rutger and Frida, both with the "Elrat vessel" specialization. Rutger used to travel vast distances with logistics, while Frida obliterated everyone with Divine Retribution...

Iris and Axel are a great pair. Dugald and Miev are pretty good. I rarely play as Rutger and Vittorio. I have a neutral opinion about Laszlo and Elaine, although the latter is very useful as a support hero... I give her all the militia and get rich!)))

Who would argue that snipers are powerful, but what if you need to fight against archers? What if you don't have access to light magic or protection from arrows? You'll suffer heavy losses and won't be able to develop normally. But a Titan can practically defeat any Stronghold army, so take a closer look at it.
