If they're really unlucky, they'll be in a nursing home, with nothing to do.
Their activities will be watching TV shows for housewives or cop shows, doing household chores – washing clothes, mopping the floor, maybe chatting with other old people.
And that's it. Day after day, for all the remaining years. Horrible, isn't it?
The only joy is talking to relatives, discussing petty gossip, like how Ashot gave a bag of potatoes for free to his third cousin, the sister's grandson of Barbara Anatolyevna, because they're "in the know."
And that's it. And with each day, life slowly fades away...
Diseases take over...
Migraines, sciatica, arthritis, high blood pressure, intestinal spasms, hemorrhoids, gastritis, etc., etc.
And then one day, after weeks of suffering, they lose consciousness and slowly fade away in the hospital. And then death. They're buried in the ground, to be eaten by worms and time...
And their relatives calmly divide their property and living space.

Yes, old age is tough. But why a car crash? If by that time, dementia hasn't eaten away at your brain and turned you into some kind of... uh... creature, you can easily take a lethal dose of sleeping pills. I'm not very knowledgeable about this (for obvious reasons), but it seems like death will be absolutely peaceful and painless.
