I also saw Stronghold: Legends in the store – it has three additional campaigns: The Ring of the Nibelungs, King Arthur, and something else... Also, new units and dragons...
A very good game, the first part is a masterpiece! The second part was very disappointing; in addition to all the mentioned drawbacks, the AI is incredibly stupid!
Here's a universal tactic: Build a castle and DON'T build any gates or towers, just a wall. When an AI army attacks, it approaches the castle, walks around it, and eventually classifies the object as a "rock" and leaves!
I haven't seen anything like this in any other game!
I love Stronghold. I remember playing it a lot with friends online. I played the first game and the expansion. I didn't play the second one, but I heard it's not that great. I think the first one is the most well-designed. In that sense, the second one has overpowered mercenaries that you can buy in large quantities if you have the resources. On the other hand, the Europeans are stronger.
Oh, it's a really cool game, and the company is great too! The Russian version is interesting; it really makes you feel like a lord. And you go back to ancient times... I'm speechless.
I really liked the first part; it's truly interesting to create a well-thought-out army for sieging a similarly well-designed castle. As for the various Legends games, my opinion is that they decided to keep making them because they were profitable, but when the work is done "under pressure" (figuratively speaking, of course), you can't create a masterpiece.
Where do we go? Where do we end up when we save the world?
Yes, it was a pretty good game... I didn't really like the first part, but I played Crusader a lot, spending all my free time on it (this was before Heroes came out). As for Legends, I didn't really enjoy it either; I played it for a week or two and got bored.
Армия баранов под предводительством льва сильнее армии львов под предводительством барана.
God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns...
Well, I personally have everything: Fortress (and the expansion), Stronghold 2 (and the expansion Stronghold: Legends). I also liked the first part; don't complain about the second one – you need to install the patches, then the AI will start thinking better over time. Inquisitor, I've been thinking about creating such a topic myself for a long time, but you beat me to it, of course. The game is really not bad; maybe we can play online?
