But the cult of necromancy in the lands of men was destroyed by chance... Markel, who remained human and was a court astrologer, pleased the queen. One day, he mentioned to her the possibilities of necromancy, but made her swear to keep it a secret. They began to meet more and more often, and one day, the king, jealous of his wife for Markel, banished him from the kingdom. After some time, the queen died. Meanwhile, the time was approaching for what the mages feared so much – an eclipse, the only force capable of breaking through the Seal of Mages and releasing the Krigans into the world.

Mages were not the only ones who feared this. The Elves, those eternal opponents of fire and destruction, sensed impending doom. Those who remained loyal to the light (High Elves) were convinced that the cataclysm which destroyed Enroth and Erathia was caused by demons. They preferred to forget that their own kinsman Gelu and King Cruloda were to blame. And those who remembered this voluntarily turned away from the light, becoming Dark Elves. The feud split a once-united race, the first children of the Ancients...
Added after 4 hours 57 minutes Dark Elves... Previously, such a phrase might have seemed impossible. And even now, the High Elves do not consider them kinsmen. But still... Eternal life brings eternal memory. They remembered. They could not forget. They also remembered that it was the Elves who first rose up against the Ancients. They remembered that Gelu is their kinsman. And remembering their dark deeds, they could not remain with the light...
And the dark elves decided to retreat into the dungeons, to the place where they had hidden during the Destruction, as the elves called the great cataclysm... Upon descending, they were extremely surprised to find that someone was already living in the dungeons: after all, the surface world was better than the dungeons. And they decided to enslave those who lived underground – elven pride took over. But they didn't subjugate everyone... Black dragons, the terror of all living things, turned out to be stronger than the elves and their slaves – hydras and minotaurs. And the elves made a pact with them – from now on, they would not interfere with each other, and even help each other – but the dragons demanded a huge price for their help – knowledge, ancient and new. Why do they need it? Who knows, who knows...

This was one of the mysteries of the Dungeon. One, but not the only one. Everyone remembered the legends of medusas, harpies, basilisks, and troglodytes, but no one had seen them. Perhaps the dragons knew... Dragons knew a lot in general, but only the chosen ones could learn something from a dragon. And dragons could tell a lot. They were wise, knew how to listen and remain silent. They remembered Mutare, they remembered Tarnum's campaign. And they remembered the Ancients. But the Ancients... But the dragons remained silent.
Why? For what purpose? No one knew... Except for the dragons themselves. For millennia, they had preserved knowledge, and they knew that it was precisely because of knowledge that the previous world had plunged into the abyss... Meanwhile, an eclipse occurred, referred to in human chronicles as the Second, and in the chronicles of mages and immortals as the First, and the Krigans entered the lands of humans, mages, and elves. A new war began, the first in a chain of bloody wars that shook the world...

The dragons foresaw the eclipse. Moreover, they caused it. But not to free the Krigans. The dragons' goals were clear only to themselves. Throughout history, only Mutare managed to reach the heights of the dragons. And the dragons remembered Mutare. They knew that only during the eclipse, when the boundary between worlds thins, they could bring her back to life...
...Far to the north of Antagarich, in the land of eternal snows, the orcs who survived the battle waged by the mages were starting a new life. It was difficult to start all over again. Many of the strongest warriors had fallen, and those who remained harbored hatred in their hearts. These mages, these pathetic sorcerers, will be destroyed! Having survived in the snows, the orcs were ready to begin moving south. Moreover, the mages had forgotten about them...
And the dragons failed to complete the ritual... The Krigans, who had escaped from captivity, killed the only dragon capable of absorbing the soul and essence of Mutare, and they did it for fun... And the dragons took revenge for this. Rallying all the clans of the "lesser" races, as they called the dark elves, they emerged onto the surface... And while the combined forces of the Falcon Empire, the Silver Cities, and Irollan fought against the demons, the rising necromancers, and each other, the dark elves secretly eliminated the infernal generals and prepared to seal the breach... But what could they do alone, even with the support of the dragons? And there were cowards who switched sides and joined the Krigans...

...That was a long time ago, yes, a very long time. I remember dragons, friends of the elves. I remember dragons, friends of the lords of the Dungeon. And I remember dragons, friends only to themselves. They were so strong that they didn't need friends. Now, when war is raging against the Krigans, they could save the situation. But where are they?
However they came to be, they appeared. They began to be called demons (Lesik will later explain why, okay?). They were merciless and strong, and they are depicted as such throughout the ages. They are both incredibly beautiful and terrifying at the same time. You can watch fire forever, they are both majestic and low, they deceived and tricked people, they are perfect in their own way, and they will forever remain in the memory of all races.
...Deep, even deeper than the dungeon, lies a vast sea. This sea is filled with many secrets. It was here that the inhabitants of Thallia found refuge during the Cataclysm. Many of them were able to adapt to the new conditions and live underwater, especially since they were amphibians. Some of them, in particular the hydras, decided to rise higher and ended up with the dark elves. From them, we learned about the underwater sea.
[Offtopic]2Ann Who are you talking about? If it's about the Krigan, we've already written about them! [/Offtopic] Yes, the inhabitants of Tatalia went underwater... But is it true, or is it just a legend, one of those told on long evenings? After all, no one has ever seen them – after the catastrophe... Meanwhile, the necromancers have reached the peak of their villainy – they have restored the method of creating bone dragons and improved it. And since then, the necromancers have become enemies of all the peoples of Antagarich, named by Ashan...

Although the Necromancers suffered open defeats, their power grew. They lulled the mages with their "helplessness" and, while seemingly retreating, advanced stealthily. Lucretia and Markel, guided by Sandro's ideals, jointly led the Necromancers. Bone dragons became stronger, and the Necromancers prepared to strike again, aiming for the very heart of all living things.
Meanwhile, a war began to brew between the underwater dwellers and the dark elves. This war was hidden from the eyes of the surface dwellers, and little is known about it. The matriarch of the dark elves wanted to put an end to the war; she was tormented by guilt. After all, the inhabitants of Tatallia suffered because of her kin...
