I don't want to offend anyone, but it seems to me that the secret of "falling in love" with a particular city also lies in age. :)
Posts from Which Castle do you prefer to play as?
Which Castle do you like to play with?
In that case, it probably depends more on personality.

In general, I agree. Before, Necropolis and Dungeon always appealed to me :D (and not just in Heroes :smile24:), but now I often play as Castle...
Нет невежества - есть Знание
Monarch, don't be so literal. For some reason, everyone understands what they mean, but you're just being stubborn and arguing.
NO, CHEATING IS ONLY DONE THROUGH NON-GAMEPLAY METHODS.
What difference does it make how, if it creates an imbalance in the game?
EVERYONE understands this, except you.

TMNT, you're also being ridiculous. You brought up those dragons again. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU RECRUIT!!
If your opponent has +100 Cyclops or 250 Gorgons, will it be easier for you? No way! It doesn't matter who joins, in the early stages of the game, you'll be overwhelmed even by 100 Golden Elves!
And by the way... Maxed-out diplomacy allows you to recruit some types of troops - for free.
Where do you get these crazy numbers from???!!! 100 Elves, okay, but 100 Cyclops??? Okay, let's assume they're guarding something. Well, if they're guarding something important, then they're aggressive and won't join you under any circumstances!

Judging by the last two pages, Monarch can confidently compete for the world championship in Heroes 3).
2TMNT: The phrase about XL in a month was hilarious)). Of course, if you create a map, like many available online, with 4 trees and two rocks on 144 squares), then yes, it's possible in a month. But otherwise, you simply won't have time to reach the enemy if they are far enough away from you.
By the way, a question for those in the know: is there any resource that provides information about world championships in Heroes? If so, please provide a link (I'm not participating :)).
Regarding the topic: An experienced player doesn't care which Castle they play, because they are experienced enough to see the advantages where others see the disadvantages).
I'm talking about playing against the AI. Playing against a human player will undoubtedly take longer. Unlike the AI, a human player has innate intelligence, not artificial intelligence. :) And the AI is a moron. I build everything up to Snake Pits and then I'm off. After that, I build up the Castle as I develop, leaving some troops there, and the AI can't defeat me. I arrive for an army around the end of the month. Until then, I use the army that's already in the Castles I've captured. Since the AI has a lot of money and resources at the beginning, its Castle is already well-developed. A new Castle means a new hero and a new army. From each Castle, you send troops in opposite directions to capture other Castles. However, towards the very end, it always turns out that there's an enemy hero with an awesome, completely undamaged army because they haven't participated in battles. That's when I unleash my army of Bog Warriors on them. :smile42:

Let me reveal a secret.
On day 1, 20 cyclops guard something (let's say a book of earth).
Since weekly growth isn't canceled, these cyclops gradually become more and more numerous. By the end of the first month, there are already about 50 of them... and so on. Since I constantly play on XL, when the main game starts, there are already a considerable number of these cyclops... and the hero with diplomacy gets them for free (very often, of course, there are cases when they join for money or simply run away)
That's where these numbers come from.
Believe me, even if you're playing on M and your opponent has 20-30 more griffins, they'll crush you! =)

What difference does it make how, if it disrupts the game's balance?
EVERYONE understands this, except you.
Imbalance in the game is not balance; cheating is a separate issue.
Beware, today imbalance=cheating, tomorrow happiness=joy, and you will be unhappy forever!
I prefer Dungeon, Swamp, or Necropolis; for others, it depends on the circumstances.
Beware, today imbalance equals cheating, tomorrow happiness equals joy, and you'll be unhappy forever!
It seems you haven't played Heroes very much.

Believe me, even if you're playing on M and your opponent has 20-30 more Griffins, he'll completely dominate you! =)
Are you telling me that I haven't played Heroes enough??? I've been playing them since their release! Damn, I was just saying that if they're guarding something, they're bloodthirsty! And they won't join, whether it's for money or for free. And one more thing - your 30 Griffins won't make a difference. And let's not discuss further - "I just used these numbers as an example, etc." Yes, they can help, but not to the point of "completely dominating."
Doesn't a character change with age??? :) :) :)
Dude, I just said that if they're guarding something, they're bloodthirsty! And there's no way they'll join, whether you pay them or not.
I've been playing them since they first came out!

If a discussion about diplomacy is needed, a separate topic should be created.
