Of course, it's up to the contest initiator to decide, but I'll note that half of the maps posted on the forum are outdated, and the author is not even mentioned! Therefore, at least the rules for posting maps on the forum need to be changed, namely, it is necessary to indicate the author or the source from which the map was taken.
And legends are a good idea!!! I had several maps by Jabbara with very funny comments, even in verse!

I think I replied via email.....I created a separate thread where you can post your maps for entry, doing it this way so as not to clutter this thread.....please note the changes in the rules, study them carefully, because I've looked through a couple of maps, but haven't found any worthy ones yet.....
Addition folks, this isn't working; I haven't seen a single map that follows the rules, everyone forgets that we are playing fantasy......No Mashas or Dusyas from Nizhny Tagil, cities like Moscow, Ryazan, Peter, and in the vast majority of cases there is no balance, overpowered artifacts are being used.....
I am also thinking about building a single-player map here (it won't be an entry, just for the soul), to show you so that you can understand, I'm sending the scenario (the map isn't ready yet), and there should be no Grails...

Why are there so few maps?

Quality over quantity! And the timeframe for drawing just one good map, taking its testing into account, is no less than a month!
Alas, so far only a few maps posted by Kant are worthy—even if not of prizes—of staying on the forum! Many contain errors or "hidden tricks" for those who know about them.
Therefore, it would be correct if the jury decides not to award first and second place in the competition.
And I also don't believe it's necessary to limit the content of the legend: many have long-finished maps that wouldn't enter the contest because of this restriction.
