After many years, I decided to revisit my favorite Heroes 5. Everything was fine, the game worked and launched. But the long AI turn and other issues led me down a bumpy road. I installed several mods, after which the random map generator lost some of its functions, and the AI didn't become any faster either. :)

In short, I made a mistake. Deleting the mods didn't help. I decided to uninstall the game and reinstall it. But unfortunately, the installer refuses to work. I tried both the "Igruha" and "Khataba" versions. Nothing worked.

I have Windows 7 installed on my computer.

Error message: Entry point for procedure GetSystemTimePreciseAsFileTime was not found in DLL kernel32.dll.

 

Please help with a ready-made solution or a link where I can download a working version of Heroes 5 3.1 for W7.

try pirating the GOG version.

How can this be done? I have no idea. :)

just type "Heroes 5 GOG download torrent" into Yandex, and it will give you the results.

The GOG version differs in that it includes some fixes, such as a fix for blurry textures, and a bunch of other extras, such as cut artbooks, manuals, and OST. At least the GOG version of Fallout didn't crash every 5 minutes; maybe Heroes will run better for you too.

But another problem arose: now the random map generator creates maps that are almost devoid of monsters and artifacts. Locations are filled with a large number of chests containing gold/experience, and no one guards them.
It turns out to be not a fantasy adventure, but a tax collection simulator.

I tried both the default template and the others that are already in the game client. The result is the same.

Please tell me where I can download templates for the random map generator that will include strong mobs and artifacts, so that the game will be challenging and have all the elements you'd expect:)

I played around with it, changing the values. Monsters and artifacts don't appear.

In that version of the game, which I accidentally messed up, the experience/resource settings from 1 to 5 didn't affect the map's population with creatures and artifacts. The number of resources changed without negatively impacting anything.
But here, the territories are just empty. Castle + mines and rare creeps.

Well, I've never installed mods for the map generator; for me, it was responsible for scattered chests and resource piles. Maps in the map editor are often quite empty.

Generators can be different. I haven't found a good one for playing against bots in a relaxed mode yet. I see that there are mods for PvP, but I don't need that.

If anyone knows, please recommend one, because I haven't found anything useful.
