Ugh... Well, it wasn't a very good contest; I had to cut the scores mercilessly. There were so many videos that I wouldn't even pay attention to, even if they were the only videos on YouTube. There aren't that many pretentious things even in the songs.
Doctor Who - The Eleventh Hour - ''Basically, run''
I sent it in a bit reluctantly, but I generally ignore videos shorter than ten minutes, so this was the first thing that came to mind. I knew what I was getting into; this scene is quite difficult to judge for those who aren't in the know, but better ideas came to me later.
My first thought was to send in
this, then I remembered
this masterpiece, and then
this and even
this. I could keep going forever because, if anything, Moffat is not lacking in epic scenes, but I decided to choose something not too specific. For example, a clip from Heaven Sent looks like an incomprehensible mess of random frames with a pretense of meaning when viewed out of context, but for me, who watched the episode and knows what's happening, it gives me chills every time.
At some point, I wanted to send in this.
Spider-Man 3 Dance Scene with "Realistic" Audio - (No Music)
1. That feeling when some random guy is doing something ridiculous, but you're the one who's embarrassed. It's a very unpleasant and awkward feeling from the video.
Under This Luminous Sky | Animated Short Film 2022
6. I don't understand anything, but it's very interesting. Overall, it's cute and well-made, but it desperately lacks context: what's happening, who are all these people? You have to guess a lot.
Titanic with a Cat
9. I deducted a point only because I haven't watched Titanic; it would be funnier with knowledge of the original. But I did watch
Star Wars (even
twice),
The Matrix, and
The Lord of the Rings. The latter reminded me of my Blondie; she sniffs me under the blanket in exactly the same way.
I haven't gotten any younger.
1. It's not for me; I don't like or understand it. I don't have enough adjectives to describe how far this is from me. I don't think it's bad; it's just not my type of content.
Ycare - Sors (Clip officiel)
2. I couldn't watch it past the middle. It's the same as the previous one; it's absolutely not my type of content. I rarely enjoy music videos, but at least the song here is more or less pleasant.
Dance & Adventure in NYC / Rufus Du Sol - Underwater
2. It's the same as the previous one, but the guy dances well. Summer camp gave me stable and reliable Vietnamese flashbacks from the dances, which compensated for the desire to give the performer a higher rating; in the end, I cut the score again for no good reason.
My Ordinary Life-The Living Tombstone
5. It's cool and kind of meaningful, but I didn't really appreciate it. Both the visuals and the music are a little off; it didn't resonate with me.
風真いろは作ってみた (I made Kazema Iroha)
7. Nothing special, neither good nor bad, but it's pleasant and tasteful.
Little Dark Age - American Cinema
4. Too meaningful. I didn't quite understand it, but I'm a simple person: good music - like, I see Luke - like, I see Burton's Batman - also like, no regrets. I didn't really like the duology itself, but if it weren't for it, there wouldn't be DCAU, and DCAU is the greatest achievement of Western animation
