Posts from “Heroes of Might and Magic V: Tribes of the East”
I bought the expansion pack!!! Don't think I'm greedy, but I usually don't buy licensed versions. But this time, I couldn't wait, and I'm glad I didn't! Orcs = awesome (goblins = ugly). The game has gained a new appeal with the addition of alternative upgrades; I don't think anyone will argue with that. A huge plus for all necromancer fans is that skeletons are finally a formidable force. I'm playing through the Campaigns at a leisurely pace, enjoying the scale of the army I can build. In general, my brother and I are replaying all the factions from the beginning! It's like a new game :) I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who remembered Disciples? Now I'm playing as the Orcs. They're strong! I only have two comments so far: 1. The random map generator = an idiot from the point of view of AI and me personally. (maybe this is just my case) 2. And why is Aranthir so nobly cleansing the Griffin Empire of demons? I haven't noticed this kind of behavior from necromancers before
P.S. Come on! Just imagine how this will revive the forum!!! How many questions will we now have to discuss, such as "Who is stronger, a succubus or a demoness?", "And why do higher vampires have an alternative upgrade?" P.P.S. In short, congratulations to everyone on the release of a very good expansion pack!

And what is so good about it? The only thing, besides the alternative creature upgrade, that can be considered a "plus" is that they finally made the maps a normal size. That's it. The generator is still weak. There are no mana wells, you can't search for the Tear of Ascha, there are few artifacts, and they are all the same type ("clover", "bags of 250 coins", "rings of the broken spirit", and other low-level artifacts), while it is almost impossible to find a truly worthwhile artifact on the map (you can only buy it if you have money. But this is, first of all, not an economic strategy, but, if I may say so, a fantasy game). "Collections" just hang around like ordinary artifacts, and not like in "Might and Magic III" (was it difficult to do?), the AI is incredibly stupid (it often stands in one place and doesn't attack a Castle that I captured, but just stands nearby until seven days have passed and it disappears, although it easily defeated me. I even freed the Castle!! It was empty, but the AI didn't attack!!). True, now the computer always retreats when it realizes that there is no chance of winning. I didn't notice this before. That's all for now...
How are the levels, are they difficult to complete, or are they easy? Are the campaigns generally complex?
The missions are cool, and not very difficult. I'm completing them normally, they're just large maps. The campaigns are complex, as you said! :) It's a pity that neither the Hammers of Fate nor the Tribes of the East have a campaign featuring the High Elves, and they don't even appear there. They completely forgot about Faelan. At least they made the "New Enemies" mission in the Hammers of Fate, and in the Tribes of the East, it's "For Tieru"! It's cool with Kenny! Here's a plus +++! I'm currently completing only the first mission for the Orcs, so I need to listen to what they say. :) Now, the High Elves have been improved, not made worse. To reach True Luck, you need to take fewer developments, only 3, whereas before it was 4! :)

By the way, regarding "Disciples 3", they seem to be taking a long time to release this game, I'm looking forward to it...:smile10:
I'm currently finishing the Necropolis campaign... and there's nothing bad to say. Everything is very lively, interesting, and colorful :D
And they criticized the skill wheel for no reason - the skills that appear most often are exactly the ones you want to upgrade. My Arantir, thanks to the abundance of useful skills, already resembles an impenetrable killing machine by level 24 (sorry for the pun)...
I hope my good impression won't fade when I finish the campaigns and try out other factions, including my beloved Inferno :D
I don't understand something. I bought Tribes of the East, and it says that it doesn't require the original game to run, but it won't start without the disc?

You're confusing the need for the original game and the need for the game's disc:) The fact that the expansion can be installed even if you don't have the original Heroes V means that you don't need the original game to run it. But you still need to put the disc in the DVD drive:))

I played 3.0 a bit, and I think it turned out quite well. The alternative upgrade introduces a better balance, and besides, it's not unnecessary, unlike in Heroes 4, where it exists, but you don't have a choice.
I'm waiting for the patch; maybe they'll bring back mana wells, because it feels a bit unusual to play without them, and I have to come up with new tactical options and conserve mana.
