Macedonian. Dry. Price: 350 rubles per liter. The part of me that knows something about wines says – it’s terrible, don’t even think about it! But the other part of me, which loves crazy stories about Alexander and the Diadochi and considers an evening when I got completely drunk unforgettable, says – C'mon, let's go!!!
Nose: blackcurrant jam and burnt sugar. Some spices, or maybe roses. Definitely, cloves. Not bad. Taste: not too dry, light, minerality, spice, unripe fruits and berries.
The finish – the Thracians didn’t deliver.
A decent wine. For its price – one of the best, at least from the 2019 harvest. The main thing is that it’s very drinkable, even without snacks. 7.5/10.

E si sui vius, er mi grans benananza, e si ieu muoir, er mi grans deliuriers
Recently found out that we have a local brewery right here in our city. Of course, my patriotic urge couldn't be contained, and trying their products became a matter of time.
The aroma is malty, with a hint of sourness, and smells like green apples and various herbs. It's weak and not very rich, even by low wheat beer standards, but it's not repulsive.
The taste follows the same pattern. Lots of malt, no hops, fruits, herbs, and flowers, all seasoned with a distinct sourness. It's fresh, light, pleasant, and the finish is clean – what more could you ask for from a wheat beer?
However, it could be more full-bodied. And the sourness shouldn't be so pronounced. Still, it's a good beer, especially for those who like wheat beers, and it's very cheap, at least here.
8/10. The price/quality ratio is even closer to a 10.

Aroma: a whole assortment of fruits, light honey, and something like... machine oil? Something industrial or smoky, but very pleasant.
Taste: again, fruits, especially sweet ones: mango, melon, pear. Against the fruity background, cedar is clearly distinguishable, and tar is less noticeable. Very good, it lacks some body, but the taste is bright and rich.
Excellent beer, currently, perhaps the best blanche I've tried. As a bonus, it comes in a funny volume – 0.5681. The price is reasonable for this quality.

E si sui vius, er mi grans benananza, e si ieu muoir, er mi grans deliuriers
I drink quite rarely, but over the years, the taste and smell of sake have become very nostalgic, regardless of the manufacturer... It goes perfectly with watching anime, haha.
Drinking absinthe at dawn in the summer has a certain decadent feel. The process, already unpleasant, doesn't become any more enjoyable, certainly not in this case. French, cold water, and sugar – it can be swallowed if you sip it slowly. The main thing is not to smell it; only my not-fully-recovered sense of smell saved me.
Added 15 minutes later Pure – it's an amazing abomination; I almost spat it out; I'd have been better off sucking on pure alcohol.
Added 27 minutes later Russian + French (first, a little syrup, then water on top) – it can be drunk, but it's still awful.
Added 20 hours 28 minutes later I haven't fully recovered, so there won't be a complete review. The taste is as neutral as possible; for a brut, it's very drinkable. And it's cheap. I bought it to mix with absinthe – the best way to drink absinthe, at least the mass-market kind. That damned green bottle has been sitting around for six months, and I've only drunk half of it.
Added 39 seconds later It seems to be better than Abrau, by the way. And cheaper when on sale.
E si sui vius, er mi grans benananza, e si ieu muoir, er mi grans deliuriers
Today is a big day. We should drink some tea to clear our minds. And baijiu – for strength of spirit. In general, since I tried baijiu at the last "hardcore game event" – and by "tried," I mean "sampled three and a half varieties for several hours without interruption," I've come to greatly appreciate this affordable option and even consider it the best in terms of price-quality ratio. If I were in Moscow, I would immediately buy a case. However, I can't say anything about more expensive versions – the price increases exponentially, while the quality improves only marginally, and then good old whiskey takes over as the leader. Describing baijiu is a thankless task. Those who haven't tried it won't understand anyway, and those who have will say that it's all nonsense. But it's 9.5/10, so you need to try it yourself and form your own opinion. Attachment 66170 Attachment 66171
The sense of smell after the Crown doesn't react well to strong drinks, except for vodka and, surprisingly, baijiu. It's a miracle of a drink, I tell you. But baijiu is hard to find here, so we'll go with wine. Castillo de Madap Crianza, 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, Monastrell
Nose: oak, nuts, blackcurrant jam
Taste: lots of fruit, again nuts and wood, but more like cedar, tobacco, a little bit of dark chocolate, dried herbs – no sign of St. John's wort (no), but some kind of herbs from cytisus and other plants are noticeable. Rich, but soft. Although it's a bit of a mishmash, I'd say the Cabernet is textbook. Cheap, like many Spanish vintages – that's why I love the country, even though I'm loyal to Italy and respect some French wines. I'm sure it will go well with small cigars, but not large cigars. Small cigars with wine... Well, well. Best enjoyed with meat, apples, and spicy food. 8/10
Let's celebrate and drink some gin!
Coldstream London Gin
Smooth. Very smooth, but lacks character. It has a flavor, it's pleasant, with a great balance – but it feels like you're drinking flavored water; there's no intensity at all.
Relatively inexpensive. Due to its smoothness, it easily outperforms the cheaper "Castle," and it's better than some Bombay gins in terms of price and quality, but it struggles in its own category. The original Dutch version is slightly inferior in balance but excels in strength and, especially, intensity. Langley is in a league of its own because Langley is Gin, with a capital G; it fills the apartment with the aroma of juniper and tastes like steel, but this... This is gin for those who don't really like gin. That's it. 8/10
Loch Lomond Classic. 1700 rubles for a bottle in the right place. Loch Lomond Original is generally excellent, but a bit more expensive. I don't see the point in forcing myself to drink blends.
This is about Scotch. With bourbon, it's a bit trickier. You shouldn't buy: DD, Jim Beam White, Mark Twain, or Canadian swill (from Canadian whiskies, only the cinnamon one seems decent, but I haven't tried it, and the regular ones are just awful). Cheap roses are decent. Gentleman is neither good nor bad. Buffalo Trace is excellent, but you need to catch a discount. Booker's is good. And everything else is roughly the same price, around 2,000 rubles. From that price range, I'd drink Turkey. Then Maker's Mark. Then Rebel. Remember that 45% ABV is the best, 50% is the best for cool guys, and 40% is only drinkable out of necessity.
Gin is actually good. It's really like water, and nothing else has ever been so smooth.
Surprisingly, I thought I'd told you about it a long time ago A cannon, a bomb, a hundred other nouns and adjectives expressing admiration for bukhlikhor. Slightly less good than Polish polugar, but far cheaper, and no mass-market "moonshine" even comes close. Moderately fragrant, incredibly drinkable even without snacks — only some homemade ones are better. Smells more of malt than bread, but those are trifles. 9.5.10 Not foul to drink without snacks, not shameful to put on the table, not bad to drink a couple of bottles with appetizers — what more could one want?
Added after 1 minute Irish are cheaper than Lambey — simply not needed. Woman's whiskey.
