Meanwhile, in another corner where earlier only the Sun and the Silent Horror were hanging out, it became a bit more crowded. They were joined by Lord Man of Sanbornia with his subjects, a one-eyed mercenary, Avesom de Superior, and Bigchad Goldenkreuz, while the maid who had danced last time was now sitting on the couch chatting with them about various topics, surrounded on all sides by Tezoth's sturdy warriors. For once, it seemed like a completely random gathering with no sinister undertones.
"Listen up, listen up... Gentlemen, gentlemen, if men could get pregnant, would you do it for your loved ones??"
This single sentence made the nameless natives of Sanbornia grimace in disgust.
"That's disgusting," said one of them, while the others nodded in agreement.
"Mwahahaha!" laughed the Lord. "Oh, my golden-haired knight! As always, you find yourself in interesting company!"
"And why not?" asked the Sun of the disgusted ones. "So that's the price of your feelings, is it? Today you preach about boundless love, and tomorrow you stumble over such a simple question?"
"Well, my lord... I'd take a hundred arrows in the back for my wife, but this... you understand..."
"I once thought I wouldn't mind if my beloved literally ate me," the one-eyed man suddenly blurted out, staring somewhere into the distance through the walls. "But times have changed."
This sentence made some of those gathered grimace even more than at the maid's earlier words.
"Quite the company we've got here," Avesom says to Bigchad. "I wonder what that says about the two of us, ending up here?"
"I'd like to know. I just liked the girl, but how are you supposed to get through a crowd like this, and sharing with someone is as disgusting as what those two mentioned."
Throughout this conversation, the knight of the Silent Horror did not utter a single word.
