05.03.297 — tournament in honor of the birthday of Deus Mariarnelia
Round 3, fight 5.
Milady Nelia Vesta vs Milord Zedil Mox
The duel was opened by Zedil, who first paralyzed Nelia with spider venom, and then with his hammer struck and damaged the cloak of the Knight of Joy. This, it seems, somewhat lowered her morale.
While Nelia stood still, the Knight of Unbridled Violence struck her again. And although the girl's resolve wavered once more, physically she suffered no harm from it. The armor worked brilliantly!
Having somewhat recovered from the paralyzing venom, the Knight of Joy successfully swung her axe at the spider so that it would no longer try to harm her. Now she and Zedil were left one on one.
Displeased with such a turn of events, the Knight of Unbridled Violence attacked the Knight of Joy again. But from his blows, the girl suffered, if at all, only mentally. However good the armor was, such constant concussions from the hammer were clearly of no benefit.
Now it was Zedil who had to take the first hit, hastily pausing to take a swig from his healing flask.
It seemed that with every minute Nelia was more actively losing her morale, but that did not stop her from attacking her opponent again and again. Sometimes successfully, sometimes not. Zedil, for his part, landed his first successful attack, which not only shook the Knight of Joy once more but also dealt physical harm. He then continued a series of unsuccessful strikes, which, however, kept affecting his opponent's mind.
And so the battle went on: Nelia weakened morally, while Zedil endured heavy physical blows. This lasted exactly until the Knight of Unbridled Violence's flask ran dry. Joy delivered the finishing attack, and then lost consciousness herself, making it clear that her strength had left her. But even so, judge Emilia Lane fairly ruled that there could be no talk of a draw. The girl had landed the final blow while still on her feet, and therefore she was the victor.
Note: some fighters seem to have cats scratching at their souls when opponents cannot do anything to them. Perhaps they should reconsider their attitude toward battles, and also start drinking coffee from time to time as a precaution?
