Posts from Bugs in the new site interfaceAuto-translated
When a large text is quoted, it is displayed in full in the published message. I've noticed on other sites that in such messages part of the quote is hidden behind a "curtain" with an "expand" button. It could be done the same way here.
Thanks for fixing the line break mode and the editor panel!
- The "?" characters in the names of some topics remain. - Regarding smileys, it's already been mentioned — besides the old ones, there seem to be too few new ones. The previous editor had more. - I would still like to increase the number of topics displayed per page in a section. - The separate window for composing a message is very small — it takes up at most half of my screen. - I'll repeat that links to posts created before the forum update do not open the message in a separate window. I assume it's a matter of the format — old links use topic/at, while new ones use /post/ - For the new messages menu under a topic, its main section is currently shown; perhaps to the right of it, the closest subsection to the topic could be added as well? For example, for this topic it would be "Баги". - And what has also been mentioned before — somewhere in the profile settings, the option to opt out of automatic translation into one's own language. After all, automatically translated messages and topics look somewhat strange.
It would be nice if, when viewing the list of topics in the sections, the "Last message" column also showed the date and time, rather than "some amount of time ago".

It would be better to add the option to enable it right in the profile settings, or on the main top bar for everyone, with it being off by default, as usual.
The ability to disable auto-translation globally without providing a translation at all destroys the very essence of this feature — it can already be turned off simply by pressing the manual translation button.
The problem here is different: if the author believes their topic isn't needed on the .net (English-language) domain and wants to restrict their thread to the Russian-speaking audience — that's another matter. Such a checkbox could be added, and the thread would simply not be displayed to those who don't know Russian, overall.
The feature was made for the convenience of those who don't know Russian and works better than just pasting the text into Google Translate, since it provides context, topic, and message section, as well as a jargon dictionary for different versions of Heroes.
Otherwise, a person who doesn't know Russian would be left with the option of pasting the text into Google Translate or a similar translator. That is, the translation process would still happen, just less conveniently and with even lower quality.
Here we need to decide: what are we trying to achieve? What problem are we solving?
There are currently a number of topics that were originally created in English, but I see their poor Russian translation. The same goes for messages. I would like it if a topic was created in English, I could see it in the original.

That is a different matter, which MedjersoN_HP mentioned; this is best solved with a "Prefer original" checkbox when displaying content. This is already in development.
The ability to disable auto-translation globally without providing a translation at all undermines the very purpose of this feature — it can already be turned off by simply clicking the manual translation button.

What about performance when navigating between sections, reading threads, and so on? Is all of this done with every transition and refresh? And I don't see a "manual translation" button. Again, you have to go digging somewhere to find it.

Performance does not suffer; the translation is done in the background on the server by sending a request to the API with an LLM, providing context, and it does not create load — we receive the response, save it to the database, and displaying the original and the auto-translation takes the same amount of time.
Can the number of pages in threads for navigation be increased to 20? It's just that right now, with 10, you can only scroll from either the first or the last page. And if you open some page in the middle of a thread, you can only go 5 forward or backward. Previously, you could scroll by 10 in either direction from anywhere.

In the profile there is an option "mods", it shows 99 (of mine). Out of 99 mods across nine pages, there is no mod Disciples II Gallean’s Return Campaign, which is located in Other games/Disciples 1-3/"Gallean's Return" for "Rise of the Elves". "Search mods by name or topic..." yielded nothing, and I searched by the mod name Disciples II Gallean’s Return Campaign. Global search also found nothing, but the mod UpdatedResources (chosen at random) was found immediately.
In "Games and categories" the section is called "Other games", and in "All sections" it is "Other".
It feels like when moving the mouse cursor, something is constantly loading in the text submission window. The mouse cursor freezes for a few seconds. Endless loading every few seconds.
Clicked to edit the previous message, an error popped up. And this theme on one tab, without a background and wide layout. The laptop is, of course, a bit old, but this is impossible to use.

504 is a problem with our proxy; .ru is still going through the French proxy for the Russian audience. Right now, a direct route is being tested — if all goes well, the French proxy will no longer be needed, until Roskomnadzor blocks something else.
I also occasionally get 504s specifically on the .ru domain; the same requests on .net work directly without issues.
Regarding the temperature, I'll look into what might be causing the load.
While I was sending the previous message and everything was freezing, I checked the browser's Task Manager and it was eating over a gig of memory, not counting video, screenshot, alas, I didn't take one. I don't know, maybe it's normal for a modern engine. So I'll be like a cuckold, just watching from the sidelines what's going on here.
