Yesterday, the standalone add-on for Heroes 6, "Shades of Darkness," was released.

We decided to take this opportunity to fix some bugs in all versions of Heroes 6 (including fixing the city screen for NVidia graphics cards).

However, some users have encountered problems with the automatic update system. To resolve this, we strongly recommend that you update the game to version 2.1 using the following instructions:


    1.    Launch Heroes 6 (for all versions).

    2.    Check the game version in the main menu (in the lower right corner of the screen, above the clock).

    3.    If the game version is lower than 2.1.0 (exclusive), follow the instructions below.

    4.    Uninstall the game (please remember that you do not need to delete your profile and saved games).

    5.    Reinstall Heroes 6:

        a)    If you have the original Heroes 6, Gold, or Deluxe edition, launch the game to automatically update to version 1.8 (you may need to restart the game several times).

        b)    If you have the Shades of Darkness add-on or the Complete Edition, please follow the next step.

    6.    Download patch 2.1.0 directly from our servers and install it manually:

After this, you can launch the game and you will have version 2.1.0.

Bugs related to music and voiceovers have already been fixed in the Steam version. You should restart Steam to get this update.

Regarding problems related to lost content:

-    The game is not displayed in the Uplay platform ("My Games").

-    It is impossible to play multiplayer maps and closed campaigns, maps, bonuses, etc. (in the evening there will be server maintenance to resolve these issues). [As of 05/04/2013, the problems have already been resolved]
