In a battle with the Ancient Horror, the Archangel loses 80% of its defense, i.e., it decreases by 24 points and becomes equal to 6.
The Horror deals 49-82 damage to the Archangel. And that's enough to kill the celestial warrior in 4-6 hits.

The Archangel, in turn, deals 77 damage to the Horror. This is always exactly 4 hits.

The order of turns decides the outcome: who attacks first. If the Archangel attacks first, it might lose. If the Horror attacks first, it loses in any scenario (the calculations show something like that).
Although, regarding the number of hits, the numbers seem to be very close to whole numbers, and I rounded down.
So, perhaps the Ancient Horror has even more chances to win. Besides, we shouldn't forget that they are usually found in the armies of the Barbarians, who have a fairly high Attack skill.

By the way, the situation is also interesting with Archdevils, due to their special ability - retaliatory attack.

Also, it's very beautiful ^__^, and that's why it's recognized by everyone as the strongest level 7 unit. I also like to clone them. In my opinion, it's the best clone in the game. And, for example, you can try a fight: 2 Archangels vs. 2 of something else, and split the 2 Archangels into 2 squads...

IMHO, Behemoths, especially Ancient ones, are good in battles against strong opponents—level 5-7 units with high defense. The higher their defense skill, the more advantageous it is to attack them with a Behemoth.

For example, considering the fight with an Archangel I described above, the Behemoth has a significant damage bonus because the Archangel's high defense is reduced from 30 to 6, and thus, the Behemoths' attack increases significantly. On the other hand, when attacking, for instance, Centaurs with a pitiful Defense of 3, Behemoths receive no additional bonuses.

That is exactly how it is: compared to other level 7 units, the Behemoth is far from the best fighter. And its magic immunity often feels irrelevant: for example, you cannot help it with Shield or Stone Skin. :)
