Good day, ladies and gentlemen!
Perhaps there's no need to hide anything. HoMM 2 is still my favorite installment, but technically, it's far behind the latest games. About six months ago, I really wanted to port my favorite map to the latest Heroes game.
Initially, the work was based on the Creation by Mykl Mocara, but the original design was quite different from the original. Most likely, Mykl Mocara drew the map quickly and "by eye." I wanted to transfer everything exactly as it was. As a result, each pixel was checked several times and transferred to the new version.
This map restoration took me more than two months of work. The map is still far from finished, but it will be gradually improved.
At this stage, the map is being ported (in progress) pixel by pixel. After that, there will be improvements and changes to support the new features of Heroes 3.
I really hope for feedback and criticism. Thank you!

The map requires the latest HOTA
The map is very cozy and pleasant. In hotseat mode, you can quickly capture a lot of castles from the AI, and then it's just a matter of technique. I wish you good luck with the port, as it feels a bit empty on the map, in my opinion. I believe the final version will be excellent! I haven't seen the original.
Nice map. Although I've played the second game, I don't remember this map, so here's my question: are the creature dwellings fixed and independent of the type of castle located in the area?
Probably, using underground terrain instead of stone terrain is not the best choice.
Moreover, a variation of the stone terrain was specifically created, inspired by the second game, where it is called wasteland. In the worst case, you can use it (the one that is orange).
