The very first one. Then patches 1.1 - 1.5 were released. These introduce changes to both the game's stability and balance. Plus, the Hammers of Fate add-on, which was initially version 2.0 and has one patch, 2.1.

What are patches? And what is an expansion pack? I have the Hammers of Fate disc, but I haven't played it yet. Am I missing something?
Hammers of Fate is the expansion pack. It is installed after the main game is installed. You play it separately from the main game.
Patches are updates to the game. They fix the balance and gameplay mechanics. You need versions 1.4, 1.41, and 1.5.
Yes, I have version 1.0. It seems to be the easiest version.
Some missions, including this one (in my opinion), are easier to complete in versions 1.41-1.5, because troops accumulate in dwellings. If you capture a dwelling and return there a few weeks later, there will be an increase in troops over those weeks. In versions lower than 1.4, there will only be a weekly increase.
Where can I get these other versions? Do I need a different disc? I thought all the discs were the same.
The discs are the same. You can download the patches here: http://www.nival.com/homm5_ru/files/. These are updates (improvements) to the game that fix some shortcomings or bugs, or simply balance the game, and are released after the game's release.
Well, I'll play this version first, and then the others.
There's no point in playing this version. Finish this mission in version 1.0, install patch 1.4, and then 1.5. That way, you'll be ready for the next campaign with the Necromancer. You can immediately learn the new Necromancy skills, and in the second mission, you'll have the opportunity to test the new training with the Humans.
Too late, I already played this mission, I'm just still writing answers here... :) Actually, I've already moved on to the fifth campaign:smile32:
What should I do?
Version 1.6
Difficulty: Hard
Thank you.
Mission Five.
Objectives:
1) Find Tiera.
2) Agraal must survive.
Walkthrough:
I already mentioned before that you should give Agraal Logistics and Scouting... My walkthrough is based on this. There was an attempt to complete it without these skills – in the end, after fighting 300 druids (they multiplied while I was getting there), only 33 minotaurs remained to fight 25 dragons... Therefore, Scouting is essential... Let's go:
I chose an artifact as a bonus. I don't take Demons and don't upgrade my own units in the fortress... Because non-Inferno units can join the game, and the fire of the demonesses affects all non-Inferno units... and your own units too...
We find a chest on the water, dock, and visit the mage's hut. We sail to the neighboring island – there is an entrance to the Dungeon. We run through the Dungeon upwards, then turn and go downwards (you need to describe a semicircle). We emerge on an island with two demonic dwellings. We recruit troops – dogs, succubi, and horses; there are also dogs just standing around – we recruit them. Back into the Dungeon and upwards. On the island, we visit the mage's hut – this should unlock the ability to dock at the island in the lower right corner. We build a ship, sail, disembark on the island where the Lords are guarded. We free the Lords, sail further (we can stop at our island along the way to buy more troops), and arrive and disembark on the island in the lower right corner of the map. We make our way to the dragons, but we don't attack. We have Scouting - +4 to vision. We run back to the ship and dock at the same island, but from the other side, behind the dragons. We visit the cartographer – 4000 coins, and all sea routes are open to us. We sail (we can stop at our island along the way to buy more troops), sail, and dock at the central island. Through the underground passage, we run to Tiera's island, kill the druids, then the dragons (there were 11 of them). Further, it's up to you – you can run straight across the bridge, or you can explore the map calmly... I explored it, and I leveled Agraal up to level 29... We run across the bridge, watch the cutscene, and the mission is completed
