Tokh, your opinion is certainly important, but it doesn't determine the rules. If, as you say, the vast majority want to play HotA, then no one will be able to stop you from doing so, and there will be 90+% HotA games, and even someone as "eccentric" as me will eventually join in, although I see that OFB, only XL, and War of the Wizards, for example, are played on SOD, and there haven't been any major protests. A mix is a compromise for the two versions, so it will be included.

Just to reiterate, the organizers are simply setting the default rules. Furthermore, any two players can agree on any changes, with the exception of rules regarding fair and respectful gameplay.

I don't decide, but I'm sure my opinion reflects that of the absolute majority of players! And it should be this opinion that is decisive when forming the regulations, not the opinion of those who play 3 times a year. And forcing potential contenders for victory to play your "coin flip" is simply absurd. Again, for now, this is just an application for the CIS region, and no one has accepted it based on the principle of "we are holding it, come and we will decide how it will be."
P.S. What protests can there be in tournaments for "Shades of Darkness" where almost no one plays anymore, and those who do play don't go anywhere.

We are waiting for a patch with a new non-monetized castle, a couple more new objects with non-monetized boots/gloves, and then it will definitely become the "best version ever" and an ideal esports discipline with international tournaments and compendiums. Let's clarify what is meant by a full mix, just in case.
For now, it's a pilot version.
Four Hota templates, four Soda templates with Overlord's Hand (having Overlord's Hand is a mandatory condition for participation), and the ninth - bidding first for the version, then for the template.
Bidding for the template: the seller chooses one of the four templates to remove, after which the buyer chooses one of the three remaining templates to play, and then - standard bidding for the city-color.
