-I'm not sure that what they teach in history lessons can be called "rumors," - Parphinora objected - I'm talking about the murder of several political figures. But even if we set that aside, I would like to know, Galmey: of those who are "helped to get on the right path," how many people refused and ultimately did not follow that path?
— I am not aware of any such cases, — the educator admitted, — which suggests that everyone was able to find their place in life and come closer to understanding harmony.
— I am not aware of any such cases, — admitted the enlightener, — which suggests that everyone has found their place in life and come closer to understanding harmony.
—Imir—the girl turned to him—let's reason logically. Let's imagine, for a moment, that Ikigai truly offers absolute harmony. Let's assume that 99% of all people would gladly agree to such an offer. But there will always be 1% of people who want something else. No matter how carefully you filter them out, there will always be those who will not agree, even with the best ideals. But Galmey does not know of anyone who returned from "re-education" as a non-Ikigai. At the same time, it is well known and taught in history lectures that Ikigai used the murders of political figures and ordinary mages to achieve his goals. It turns out that either the 1% of those who disagree are simply killed, or hypnosis is indeed used against them.
Where do we go? Where do we end up when we save the world?
- So, are you going to participate in the competition, or should we write down some wishes? Maybe we should suggest adding more ice cream, pastries, or other delicious treats to the cafeteria? Or maybe we should ask for fewer classes? - Bert laughed. - But seriously, I don't even know what else I would want. Maybe some sports games? Any ideas?
— Every nation has experienced periods of violence and bloodshed,” Imir disagreed with Parfynora’s arguments, and she noticed that although he was somewhat agitated, he spoke more confidently than usual today. “I’m not well-versed in history, but even I know about the dark side of our country. Does that mean I should ‘logically’ reject everything the empire represents, even despite all its positive aspects? After all, we have been ruled by one dynasty for centuries.” Imir closed his eyes and pondered. “The teachings of Ikigai contain nothing bad, and in Galmey’s speeches, I heard nothing but good and compassion.”

- So, are you going to participate in the Competitive event, or should we write down some wishes? Maybe we should suggest adding ice cream, pastries, or something else delicious to the cafeteria? Or reducing the number of classes? - Bert laughed. - But seriously, I don't even know what else I would want. Maybe some sports games? Any ideas?
— I want more people in the classes. More people means more friends!
Berwang was ready to participate in the Competitive event.
— I want there to be more people in the classes. More people means more friends!
- Especially girls,” Bert added with a laugh. “Good idea.” After that, the guys jotted down their suggestions on paper, adding a point about going on trips to nature. (about food, games, and people)
Berwang earns 25 points out of 100.
— But why so few? — Berwang was upset and asked the competition organizer. He didn't get an answer to this question.
- Don't be upset, you were doing pretty well, I definitely would have scored even lower. I don't know who came up with these challenges, but it certainly wasn't for us, heh, - the elf tried to encourage his friend. - I'm sure none of us will score even 50 points, unless after hundreds of hours of training under the guidance of Mari Kamii, but that would be quite an ordeal, - Bert smiled. - By the way, how did you end up at the Academy?
- Ah, so that's how it is! Students! And that means... they can come onto our territory with an armed criminal gang, insult us, attack our students with weapons, intending to kill them?... - he spread his hands in confusion. - Is that normal? Or is it normal because he's the son of some gangster, and he has the right to trample on, maim, and kill anyone he doesn't like, and he won't be punished for it? Let me tell you something, uh... What's your name, by the way? I'm Latro, third grade, - he offered his hand for introduction. - Today I was too slow, but next time I'll take him down on the spot - I guarantee it. And no more pet monkeys will help him. It's time for this vegetable to move into the adult world, where there are consequences for vile actions.

“Our country has had periods of violence and bloodshed, but no one tried to gloss over these episodes with words about good and harmony. Everyone understood that Thiary was doing evil. And in the end, our people tried to overthrow him – and they succeeded. Meanwhile, the followers of Ikigaya are committing murders right now – the last known case was less than 30 years ago – and at the same time, they claim to bring only good and harmony. Right now, they are sending people for ‘re-education’ – and only ‘re-educated’ people return from there. You say you will choose for yourself. But Galmey just said that no one has ever returned from ‘re-education’ as someone who is not an Ikigayan. Doesn’t that suggest that they have no choice?
Where do we go? Where do we end up when we save the world?
- Did you decide to come here on your own, or were you sent to study? Tell me more about yourself, - Bertrand asked.
— I was sent... But let's start with you! Morning
- Ah, I see! Apprentices! And that means... they can come to our territory with an armed criminal gang, insult us, attack our students with weapons, intending to kill?... - he spread his hands in confusion. - Is that normal? Or is it normal because he's the son of some gangster, and he has the right to trample on, maim, and kill anyone he doesn't like, and nothing will happen to him for it? Let me tell you something, uh... What's your name, by the way? I'm Latro, third year, - he offered his hand for a handshake. - Today I was too slow, but next time I'll take him down on the spot - I guarantee it. And no pet monkeys will help him anymore. It's time for this vegetable to move into the adult world, where there are consequences for nasty deeds.
— Nagai Ryuji, you can just call me Ryuji. — The guy shook Latro's hand. — You know, I definitely agree with you on everything, but... I doubt we can really do anything in the current situation. The best revenge should happen in the Competitive arena; whoever wins from our classes, I think we will be obliged to tear them to shreds. But not like bandits, but as proud students of the Reima Military Academy. Siverfale

— Galmei is just one person, and he can't know about every specific case. — Imir disagreed with Parfynora again. It seemed that he preferred information that was consistent with the point of view he had adopted earlier and subconsciously rejected what threatened the integrity of the picture that had formed in his mind. — And even if that's not the case, I don't find it strange that everyone who tried to follow this path, filled with harmony with the world and goodness towards others, continued to follow it.

—Imir, Parfynora’s voice trembled—please, don’t. I’m afraid for you… I’m afraid of losing my only friend. Please, don’t go there. For my sake.
Where do we go? Where do we end up when we save the world?
— They sent it... Why don't you go first and tell us!
- There's not much to tell, it's a typical family. My father has his own business, so he sends me some money every month for various needs. My mother mostly takes care of the house. I also have two younger sisters and a younger brother. I miss them a bit, to be honest. I decided to enroll in the Academy myself because I wanted to achieve something on my own and see what the capital has to offer and where I can go from here.
