We are all familiar with the concept of 'procrastination'. In short, procrastination is the act of postponing or ignoring important tasks, instead dedicating time to activities that are pleasurable. It's possible that this is one of the reasons for dissatisfaction with life for many of us, but that's not what I want to talk about. I've noticed that I'm simply wasting time. That is, I'm spending time aimlessly, without even entertaining myself. If I'm reading, watching, or playing something, it's a pleasant (usually) way to spend time, but sometimes time just slips away. This can include pointless activities like "checking my feed" (more often than necessary, considering that the flow of new messages is not that great), scrolling through websites (I've seen other people do the same with news feeds on social media), simply surfing the internet, saving pictures, etc.
Do many of you experience this feeling?
Autism is a condition that makes communication very difficult or practically impossible.
I used to play games and watch movies, but now I don't go beyond forums andYouTube
Ah, are you talking about constantly checking your computer for new messages, refreshing it every half hour, even though you know there probably won't be any, just to put off doing something more important?
I've been there. However, for me, there was a certain meaning to it. The meaning was that 1) I wanted to see the reaction to my messages IMMEDIATELY, and 2) I wanted to know what others were up to in general (in particular, what my virtual acquaintances and real friends, who hang out in the same online community, are doing – what's happening in my country and in the world in general).
I don't really do that anymore. Maybe because my main interests have moved to the real world. And pointless activities have moved there too – like going to a store even though I don't need to buy anything.
And yet, I absolutely hate drawing, I hate my drawings, I hate my comic, but if I stop for a couple of days, I get terrible withdrawal symptoms.
And someone even suggested that I draw a comic!
But now I'll have to. There's a project for school. I need to create a book/magazine/comic. I'll make a depressing comic where the main character hangs himself or jumps off a cliff at the end.
