I agree; it all depends on your skill. The Haven infantry with shields can effectively counter the archers. In general, I like the Elves; I've played a lot with them and won, and in the end, the more tactical player always wins; blindly rushing with a shout of "hurrah" is not a suitable tactic for Sylvan.
