In "The Shadow of Death" with the HD mod, the game started normally. In "Complete Collection," the game started normally. In "Complete Collection" with the HD mod, the game started normally. I recommend installing the HD mod. If the game still crashes with the HD mod, you should try to find and install a different version of "Heroes 3" (download from a different source).

Reinstalled the game from a different package – "(2000) Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete".
