Tournament idea by Dyrman (confrontation between "good" and "evil" factions). I.C.Q. - 403996934.
Tournament organizer and head judge - KillAndAction.
My number I.C.Q. 458071313 and email address killa_homm@sama.ru.
Tournament judge - alex_nv.
I.C.Q. 364581417, email address alex_nv_2004@mail.ru
Tournament Regulations.
This tournament is an official rated tournament.
Tournament deadlines are determined based on the number of registered participants at a rate of: 1 round - 11 days (as a standard tournament will be held on HeroesLeague during the same period).
Depending on certain conditions (at the discretion of the organizer and judge of this tournament), a "PlayOff" stage may be included.
Tournament participants are divided into 2 groups depending on the faction group they declared upon registration:
- "evil" Dungeon, Inferno, Necropolis, Stronghold
- "good" Academy, Haven, Sylvan, Fortress.
After registration for this tournament ends, participants send the organizer a list of factions they will play in each round via email. The deadline to send the aforementioned message to the judge is 3 days.
If the total number of tournament participants is from 1 to 11 people (4 to 6 players per group), no single faction should be mentioned more than twice in the submitted list. If the total number of tournament participants is from 12 to 21 people (6 to 10 players per group), no single faction should be mentioned more than three times. And so on...
An even number of players participate in the tournament. If an odd number are registered, the last player registered will enter as a substitute for someone who drops out.
Reasons for dropping out:
- non-compliance with the regulations and rules of this tournament;
- violation of tournament deadlines without prior notification to the judge;
- fact of violating prohibitions in this tournament;
- rudeness, public insult of the organizer, judge, or participants.
All results of a participant who leaves the tournament are passed by "inheritance" to the player entering as their substitute.
Pairs in the tournament are formed via draw. To do this, each registered participant is assigned a unique number for the entire tournament (the unique number is preserved when a player is replaced). The draw takes place for each round. A mandatory condition for the draw: each player must play against any other participant no more than once.
2 points are awarded for a win, 0 points for a loss, and 1 point for a draw.
In case of equal points, the following criteria apply:
- head-to-head result between players
- number of wins and draws
- tie-breaker game.

Tournament Rules.
Games are played on the latest official version of the game. Currently – HoMM V: Tribes of the East 3.1, with the Tournament Edition mod used in this tournament. By default, games are played on the Ubi server. By agreement, games may be played via Hamachi, COMODO EasyVPN, GameRanger, and similar programs.
Template list:
large size - chaos, spiral, smile, diamond.
huge size - M3, sun, letos, labyrinth, mask, rainbow, spider.
Templates are crossed out by each player sequentially removing one template in turn from the full list for each game.

5."Selected Faction guard only" - off

Game settings:
Turn time limit – 8 minutes.
Animation speed – 5.
Quick combat – enabled.
Simultaneous turns – enabled.
Dynamic combat – disabled.
Ghost mode – disabled.
Autosave – enabled.
Game difficulty – hero

Daily saves are mandatory. Since the game has autosave, it is recommended to save once every 3 days.
Each player in each round is entitled to one restart with map regeneration no later than the end of day 2, week 1, month 1.

If all creatures for both players die at the end of a battle / final battle, victory goes to the one who performed the last action on the battlefield (e.g., cast Armageddon, broke a crystal, attacked with lava dragon creatures and died from fire shield damage).

PlayOff Stage.
Placements based on the preliminary tournament are determined by:
1) points earned;
2) Buchholz coefficient (sum of points earned by the player's opponents in the preliminary part);
3) tie-breaker game on the "Smile" template.
The top 8 placements among "good" and "evil" factions advance to the PlayOff, which determines the strongest "good" and strongest "evil" in three rounds of games between "good" and "evil" respectively:
- quarterfinals (1st place plays 8th, 2nd plays 7th, 3rd plays 6th, and 4th plays 5th);
- semifinals (winner of 1-8 plays winner of 3-6, winner of 2-7 plays winner of 4-5);
- final (semifinal winners play each other).
Templates are always crossed out from the full list, and factions from 8 (4 opponent factions and 4 own) in the quarterfinals, from 6 (3 remaining opponent factions and 3 remaining own) in the semifinals, and finally from 4 (2 remaining opponent factions and 2 remaining own) in the final. One template or one faction is crossed out from their own and others' lists in turn until only one template or one faction remains for each. The player who placed lower than their opponent in the preliminary stage crosses out templates and races first, and also chooses the color.

The Superfinal between the best "good" and "evil" is played as a best-of-three (two wins), with factions being eliminated during crossing after each game. For the first game, factions are crossed from the full list (4 opponent factions and 4 own). The template list is always full. The side that lost in the preliminary stage (most likely "good") will start crossing and choose the color.
One template or one faction is crossed out from their own and others' lists in turn until only one template or one faction remains for each.
Prohibitions.
The use of any bugs, undocumented features, cheat codes, as well as unofficial programs and modifications is prohibited, except for the TE mod itself (and programs creating virtual networks).
The "Red-rush" technique is prohibited, meaning an attack by red on the first day of the week with purchased growth (the red player may attack on the first day, but without purchasing growth).
Any joining of neutrals is prohibited; as an exception, joined units can be sacrificed in a pit or sold at the market.
The use of the travel spell "Astral Gates" to jump into the opponent's starting zone is prohibited.

In case of connection loss or game crash, the last autosave is loaded; players are required to exactly repeat all their moves up to the moment of disconnection or crash.
In case of connection loss or crash on the first day of the game, heroes are randomly assigned again.
In player-vs-player battles, a stalemate situation may arise (where neither player can win). In this situation, the attacking side must retreat or surrender (at their discretion). If the Shackles of War artifact is involved, in a stalemate situation, the battle should be finished in AutoCombat mode.

The winner of the match writes the game report. The defeated player must confirm it. It is desirable to record the final battle; in a disputed situation, it may help the Tournament judge.
The game report should be formatted as follows:
Player1 (faction, main hero(es)) def. | lost Player2 (faction, main hero(es)) - Template, month-week-day
where def. indicates victory, lost indicates defeat
The report may also contain a brief description of interesting game moments.
Example
kontra (Dungeon, Sinitar) lost Sir_Moz (Sylvan, Wyngaal) - Spiral, 2-1-6
or
Vsev (Dungeon, Iranna) def. Alan Prost (Haven, Axel) - Spider, 1-4-2

Reports must be provided by both players.
Write reports in the thread [TOURNAMENT] "Who is stronger?": reports and accounts

Faction Table and Round Table.

So, the preliminary stage of the tournament is over. Currently, "Evil" factions are winning. Therefore, the PlayOff stage was slightly modified to determine the strongest among "evil" and among "good" factions.
As seen from the Final Table data, despite the calculated Buchholz coefficient, 2nd and 3rd places have not been determined for "good" factions.
Therefore, a tie-breaker game is needed between BOLIVAR and dmitrik. Deadline for this is February 13.

Deadlines for other PlayOff games:

"Quarterfinal" deadlines for determined player pairs until February 16, for undetermined + 10 days after their determination.
"Semifinal" dates February 16 - February 26.
"Final" dates February 27 - March 12 (holidays make adjustments).
It would be great if the games were finished earlier.

I'm in. (although this will be my first time playing iRMG + TE)
Nickname on HeroesWorld: oneman
Nickname in Hamachi: Mishander
I.C.Q. number: 377204409
Preferred playing time: Evening after 9:00 PM Kyiv time, or weekends by arrangement
Faction group affiliation: Good

And here are a few questions right away:
• The choice of Castles within a group is clear, but how is a Castle chosen against a specific player?
• How is the starting hero/resource chosen?
• Who generates the map? (I hope it's not one of the duelists) And if it's not one of them, does the map creator at least do a quick check to ensure the map is "fair" for both players?
• If I move right up to the defender at the entrance to the player's starting location and jump over them with the door, is that a violation or not? I mean, not through a wall, but through a passage, but one that is still guarded.
• How is this rule checked:
In the event of a connection interruption or game crash, the last autosave of the game is loaded, and players must exactly repeat all their moves up to the point of the connection interruption or game crash.
• For some specialists, the TE mod increases the troop growth per level per week. Does this require being in the Castle at the end of the 7th day, or does this growth appear in the hero at the beginning of the week?

• The selection of Castles for the group is clear, but how is the Castle chosen against a specific player?
After the registration for this Tournament is completed, participants send a list of Factions they will play in each round to the organizer via email. The deadline for sending the above message to the judge is 3 days.
If the total number of participants in the Tournament is from 1 to 11 people (from 4 to 6 players in each group), then the submitted list of Factions should not mention at least one of the Factions more than twice. If the total number of participants in the Tournament is from 12 to 21 people (from 6 to 10 players in each group), then the submitted list of Factions should not mention at least one of the Factions more than three times.
oneman

• How is the starting hero/resource chosen?
The hero is chosen randomly, the bonus is up to the player.
oneman

• Who generates the map? (I hope not one of the duelists) And if it is not one of them, does the creator at least do a quick check for the map's "fairness" for both players?
The map is generated as usual: by the players themselves or by a third party (another player whom both players trust, the Tournament judge). Usually, online players have a default rule that all players behave honestly...
oneman

• If you approach the defender at the entrance to the player's starting location and jump over them with a door, is this a violation or not? That is, not through a wall, but through a passage, but still guarded.
It is forbidden to use the "Astral Gate" spell to jump into the opponent's starting zone.
oneman

• How is this rule checked:
In case of a connection interruption or game crash, the last autosave of the game is loaded, and the players must exactly repeat all their moves up to the moment of the connection interruption or game crash.
Here, of course, not much can be checked, but again, the principle of honesty applies.
oneman

• For some specialists, the TE mod increases the weekly troop growth per level. For this, you need to be in the Castle at the end of the 7th day, or will this growth be generated in the hero at the beginning of the week?
Creatures appear for specialists on the 1st day of each week, regardless of where the hero is...

The links to the manual and templates will be updated until the registration for the Tournament is closed.

After registration for this tournament is complete, participants send the organizer a list of factions they will play with in each round via email. The deadline for sending the judge the aforementioned message is 3 days.
If the total number of participants in the tournament is from 1 to 11 people (from 4 to 6 players in each group), then the submitted list of factions should not mention any of the factions more than twice. If the total number of participants in the tournament is from 12 to 21 people (from 6 to 10 players in each group), then the submitted list of factions should not mention any of the factions more than three times.

So, for example, in round 1, I have to play 2 games. Accordingly, I sent a list of 2 castles out of 4 possible. My opponent did the same. How do we determine which castle to choose for the first game? (there won't be any questions about the second game :)).

hero - random
Am I the only one who thinks that this option immediately has a high chance of creating unequal conditions for two players? No one will argue that, despite the TE mod, there are significantly stronger and weaker heroes?

The links to the manual and templates will be updated before the tournament registration ends.
Please add a link to the TE mod changes there as well. Because for those who are not familiar with TE, browsing 300 pages in search of "green" numbers is somehow tedious.
