Hello everyone – what do you think about organizing a Second Sergeant "Patron" Tournament? :), with sponsor prizes (about 5 kilos of rubles) – I'm ready to contribute 500 rubles, I suggest discussing this matter – especially with those who would support this initiative – also chipping in 250-500 rubles... we'll discuss the details. The main thing – everything goes to the prize fund, minus transfer fees – well, let the numbers be non-round, what can you do...

Positions:
1 Not a single ruble to the organizers, that's important...
2 Entry for those who wish – free, but there will be a discreet face control by the organizers.
3 The prize fund might be distributed among 7-8 participants? (+ a prize for the most beautiful battle, a viewer's sympathy prize – we're discussing this :)) – because this is a festival-type tournament, not a commercial venture; anyone looking to make money from this – this isn't for them :)
4 At the organizers' discretion – prizes will probably not be in cash, but, for example, internet payment, something like that – also up for discussion...
5 Right now, the prize fund preliminarily amounts to 3250-3500 rubles (7 sponsors). Anyone willing to contribute 250-500 rubles (no more needed) – write to me in AS or here.
6 Format – SoD, rules – HeroesWorld – the rest is up for discussion...
5 Lastly – I guarantee with my honest name, if I have one, the availability of the prize fund (in case any sponsor bails...) of up to 5000 rubles.

I think it would be best not to publish the list of sponsors (perhaps later, at the award ceremony stage, after the tournament, or something like that...), so as not to discourage those who simply want to participate (if anyone wants to announce themselves, they are welcome). Loi, playing for money simultaneously seems both cool and scary. It would be great if regular tournaments with a buy-in were held. But we need someone who can handle all the organizational and, most importantly, financial issues...
And the downside is obvious – it won't be the familiar, friendly atmosphere we're used to...

The idea of playing for money is both cool and scary at the same time.

Many have some doubts, reflections, concerns — in some ways I share them too... Let me clarify — personally, I see this not so much as a tournament with a buy-in (i.e., an entry fee, like in poker) but rather as a festival of the game. People who contribute (secretly or openly) may play themselves or not — they will have no privileges; that's it, they gave money for a good cause (like passing a hat around, you know...). That is, I envision such a tournament as being closer to the format of chess tournaments, not poker ones — feel the difference... tournaments with buy-ins are still a bit different. IMHO.
P.S. After all, nothing prevents you from stating before the tournament begins: hey, I'm playing without a prize fund (or, in case of a win, I'll direct the money to an orphanage, to pay for HeroesWorld hosting, beer for everyone :), etc.).
Anyway, I suggest we continue thinking, observing — in about two weeks, we can probably draw some interim conclusions...

We need a Prize – not stinky money that can ruin even close relationships and introduce mercenary rot into the bright knightly (friendly) Heroic atmosphere, and perhaps not even an official “blessing” in the form of a badge under the avatar (although that wouldn’t hurt either), or a hastily bought postcard or souvenir from a Chinese shop, but specifically a Prize, a handmade Prize, possessing which will fill the soul and body with warmth. It should inspire tenderness and awe in the harsh souls of warriors. The struggle for it will be honest and noble by definition; there won't even be a thought about anything base or dishonest, about cheating...

From personal experience – once I won money, I already forgot how much, and paid for internet access.
And twice there were Prizes (with a capital letter) – these wins I will always remember – a Painting, to use Valera’s words, "fills the soul with warmth," and a T-shirt – it would warm my body if I wore it, but I keep it safe, I don’t want to use it, so for now it’s just for the soul...
