The first stage of the annual John Van Caneghem Memorial Tournament "Draconia" (15th offline tournament)

P.S. This tournament is held as part of the general John Van Caneghem Memorial Tournament. This tournament has ten stages, two stages for each version of Heroes.

TOURNAMENT RULES

1. To participate in the tenth offline Heroes 1 tournament "Draconia", you must register on our website www.heroesworld.ru and submit an application in this thread.

2. The tournament will be played on the Russian version of Heroes 1 from Buky. The save file will be generated on the Russian version 1.1.

3. The goal of the game is to win the map in the shortest possible time (in days).
The winner of this tournament receives a prize in the form of a cup (displayed in their profile and under their avatar).
This tournament is rated and published on the site http://www.reytinghmm1.ho.ua/, so it is necessary to earn your rating now, since at the end of the year the best player on our site according to the ranking will receive a separate prize in the form of a cup for the absolute winner, as well as an honorary certificate sent by mail. The rating will be calculated for 2010.

4. The result will be evaluated primarily based on the smallest number of days. In case of a tie in days, the qualifying criterion is the sum of primary skills (attack, defense, magic, knowledge) INCLUDING WORN ARTIFACTS; if there is still no clear favorite, then it will be determined by the amount of mercury.

6. Send the save file to the email address VDV_forever@bk.ru

The submitted save file must contain the tournament round number (15), the participant's number in the application table, the abbreviation of the tournament stage (D - Draconia), and the player's nickname.

Example:

7. The result of a player who played with violations of the rules will be annulled, and the player will be punished.
The result of a player who used cheats during the game will be annulled, and the player will receive a lifetime ban!

8. Discussion of the tournament on the Internet is PROHIBITED during its conduct!!!
(Players who violate this rule automatically lose the opportunity to play in the tournament; their results will not be counted and will be canceled).

9. The tournament starts on January 2, 2010, and lasts until February 2, 2010 (inclusive!), Moscow time. The final results of the tournament will be announced on February 7, 2009.

10. After receiving your save file, you will see in the application table that:

save received - indicated by a bold nickname.
save accepted - indicated by a blue bold nickname.
save rejected - indicated by a red bold nickname.

Sequence of actions:

1. Download the save file.

2. Place the downloaded save file in the GAMES folder of your installed Heroes 1 game.

3. Load it and start playing at any time that is convenient for you, while remembering to make daily saves.

4. After reaching the last action (after which victory occurs), save again.

5. A detailed description of the tournament map is encouraged (optional). If there are any, the best ones will be published in the thread "Feats of Our Best Heroes", and also placed on the reference website http://handbookhmm1.narod.ru/!

6. Send this save file to the specified address (in the rules of this tournament).

7. Wait for the results to be announced.

Oh, a new tournament on a rather original map, and it's even within the framework of the King's Bounty! I'll definitely participate ;)

In my opinion, it doesn't look like a random map, but the fact that some monsters, especially dragons, are positioned crookedly, I think it was intentionally done by the author, Donald E.Riale, who, as you know, has given fans of Heroes 1 more than one famous map.;)
In Heroes 1, the awkward positioning of monsters on the map is more of a pattern than an exception...:o

I sent the save file. I dismissed all heroes except for two (by the way, I suggest continuing this tradition, as it makes the moderator's job easier ;)).
Playing on this map, you realize how powerful a single dragon can be in the first game :cool:. And the map is actually not that difficult; if anyone wants to play, join in; you might still have time.

P.P.S. I noticed an interesting thing during the playthrough: when viewing heroes, LMOracle marks heroes as being in taverns of already defeated opponents. Can they really not be recruited? Or is this an oracle bug?
